HEE! Someone at ONTD was wondering last night why all the Star Trek men (Pine, Quinto, Urban, Cho, etc) are so doable! The casting directors did hire a bunch of fine men! LOL

This movie is crack. I want to see it again. I know - I'm totally tempted to see it again this weekend. I ran across this interview with Quinto and thought this bit about when he first met Nimoy was funny: Leonard Nimoy is awesome. He is! That sounds like such an other-worldly moment.

angelaudie, I love your icon! Yup, there are some good looking people in this movie. It's not just the guys either - Zoe's pretty hot too.
And on that same note - kostgard, that is a mighty handsome photo of ZQ that goes with that interview. sigh. I'd go to his dinner parties any day.

HEE! Thanks! A friend of mine found it and I had to have it! That was one my favorite scenes and lines from the film. I must confess McCoy was my favorite part of the movie! And yes Zoe is stunning!

Dear God this was ridiculously good!!!
FWIW I'm enough of a Trekkie that I knew Uhura's name, and coming from that perspective, this movie so completely rocked. In fact when I was walking out with my sister, we agreed the biggest disappointment was realizing "There's not going to be another episode next week."
I still can't believe how bizarrely perfect the cast was. I know Shatner is "the" Kirk and all, but Chris Pine just owned it in a way that I could actually relate to the character, for once (it helped that he was oh so very hot). Zachary Quinto needs to get the hell off Heroes so he can act in some quality productions; hard to believe that even playing a Vulcan he managed to be the emotional pivot of the movie. McCoy, Scotty, Chekov - flawless. I cannot believe Simon Pegg managed to pull off Scottyisms without going into pure caricature, but he did. And I kept to my personal Star Trek tradition of wondering "Dammit, why wasn't there more Sulu in that?" I really love John Cho. He's hot and funny.
Mostly, I'm just stunned at how I completely bought everybody as who they were supposed to be. I wasn't thinking "Harold" or "Sylar" or "Shaun of the Dead," I was just going with the characters.
I liked <<the Spock/Uhura thing way more than I expected to. It didn't feel like the token forced romance of the movie, and the actors had extremely believable chemistry. Mainly, I love that the movie didn't even go near the cliche of "self-possessed, smart woman ditches all common sense and goes googly for the bad boy." Instead, Uhura was shown as smart and competent, and sought out the smart, pulled-together Spock.>> Yay! Thank you, movie!
Seeing Tyler Perry outside one of his own movies was really weird, although much like hearing the Beastie Boys, it was weird in a way that worked. I hope there is an outtake somewhere of Admiral Madea yelling at Kirk because come on, that would be awesome.

Everything I know about Star Trek I learned from a Universal Studios stunt show when I was eight and a spoof video that was on America's Funniest home videos. I have seen some of the Deep Space Nine and Next Generation eps and one or two of the movies (have no idea which) since my ex bf was a fan.
Me and my brother saw this last night and loved it. I want to go see it again. This was the first movie that I've actually like Zoe Saldana in as she usually irritates the crap out of me with her permabitchface. She's much better when playing understated kick ass. Quinto as Spock was about ten kinds of awesome.

TTMR & I saw this tonight, and we both loved it. I'd only echo everyone else's comments, so I'll just say that I really want to see it again.

I'm glad for Zoe Saldana; her earlier work has been sketchy (Center Stage and Stomp the Yard, which I liked although they sucked; Crossroads, which just sucked).
