I assumed they were a tribute to the Ceti Eels from the Wrath of Khan.

I assumed they were a tribute to the Ceti Eels from the Wrath of Khan. Absolutely possible too. But even then, we never saw the critter come out again... *cue spooky music* Either way, I'm wondering if we'll see Pike compromised by eel or Conspiracy beetle in the sequel. Didn't the Romulans name the bug they forced down Pike's throat? Got to find a transcript... ETA, ok, found the explanation and I guess Pike won't be eating worms anytime soon. From a chat with the writers: I'm glad Pike will be back. Greenwood was awesome and his convo with Kirk at the bar in the beginning of the movie was one of the best scenes in it.

After rewatching that TNG clip, I'm kind of sad that Pike will not be eating worms...

After rewatching that TNG clip, I'm kind of sad that Pike will not be eating worms... Maybe I'll start a campaign: "Pike Eat Worms". I need an extra long, extra special, extra hot version of this movie when it comes out on DVD.

Kurtman and Orci talk sequel. Sounds like the earliest we can hope for a sequel is 2012. I know some are freaking out but I'm willing to wait a little longer if that means Star Trek 2 isn't a repeat of Transformers 2. Well, unless the Mayans were right that is. Then, it kinda sucks!

I don't think I freak easily, but the bug scene in Wrath of Khan haunts me to this day. I had a visceral reaction when I saw that about to happen in this one.

Heh. Well, if the Mayan theory is correct, the world won't end until December of 2012, so plenty of time for some summer blockbusters!

I have no idea why I never made it to the theater to see this especially after claiming I would camp out for tickets but it is what it is. I could kick myself in the teeth though for not going as I finally saw the film and FREAKING LOVED IT!!! Sorry Netflix but I am gonna hog this one for a while because repeated viewings are a must. Loved every second of it, thought the casting was made in heaven and JJ? Can JJ just direct everything from here on out? And Quinto fans? I finally get it. The guy is hot hot hot as Spock and being as I had a huge crush on Nimoy as Spock as a little girl I almost feel like I am cheating on him! I can't wait to see this again tonight and will probably have a big goofy smile on my face all through the film just like I did two nights ago. Shoot, I was almost tempted to rush my family out of my house last night during Thanksgiving dinner just to watch but thankfully was able to control myself.

I preordered it. It came in the mail on Monday. I watched it Monday night, Tuesday morning while waiting in an airport, then again Wednesday night.
And I am not ashamed.

Hee. I've watched it about four times since buying it (the day it was released btw). I feel no shame and really I don't think I should since it's a good movie. Now, if I watched Twilight repeatedly....
