This and Moon were my favourite movies this past year. So far! My parents have resisted my attempts to make them watch it, but we're staying at their place for Christmas and New Years so I'll get them then... Resistance is futile!

I have no idea why I never made it to the theater to see this especially after claiming I would camp out for tickets but it is what it is. I could kick myself in the teeth though for not going as I finally saw the film and FREAKING LOVED IT!!! Sorry Netflix but I am gonna hog this one for a while because repeated viewings are a must. Loved every second of it, thought the casting was made in heaven and JJ? Can JJ just direct everything from here on out? And Quinto fans? I finally get it. The guy is hot hot hot as Spock and being as I had a huge crush on Nimoy as Spock as a little girl I almost feel like I am cheating on him! I can't wait to see this again tonight and will probably have a big goofy smile on my face all through the film just like I did two nights ago. Shoot, I was almost tempted to rush my family out of my house last night during Thanksgiving dinner just to watch but thankfully was able to control myself. Oooh that's good to hear. I may gift this to myself this year.

I watched this last night. Had never seen any Star Trek films or the shows or whatever before. Of course I still knew the names Kirk and Spock and some others. I'm not a fan at all of films like this one but I still enjoyed it. And it helped a lot that the cast was so cute. But, what was my personal own Eric Bana doing there!!? I only recognized his voice at first before fully realizing that it was indeed Eric.

Somebody took the Star Trek XI audio book (read by Zachary Quinto) and re-edited it into a piece of Kirk/Spock slash. NSFW.It sounds a bit like phone sex from an automated customer-service hotline, but I LOLed.

Awesome! I know JJ likes to recycle his actors, and I wondered why there weren't more people from Alias making cameos. I figured Jennifer Garner might be too recognizable, but wondered about the others. Man, I really hope Spy Daddy can come back as a Klingon. I would flove to see VG in the sequel. And here's another bit of JJ Alias cast recyling I'd be down for, Mia Maetro as T'Pring, assuming they want to throw her character into the mix as a Vulcan survivor with a personal connection to Spock. I like MM as an actress and she actually has a somewhat similar look to the beauty who played original T'Pring. That said, I'd only want to see this character appear in the sequel in a necessary and interesting way, since I wouldn't want her to be used as part of some arbitrary, angsty soap opera subplot. Because as I said in my reaction to the movie post, I do. not. want. a cliched triangle story (especially one involving S/U/K). However, in the case of S/U/T, there's certainly no love lost between Spock and T'Pring, so it could actually be interesting to see how Spock and Uhura would react to the news that his calculating, disrepectful, snob of a betrothed was still alive. If nothing else, maybe they could feature her in a worthwhile scene/tie-in with the Vulcan colony and Sarek, or even Spock Prime. In other news, I'm enjoying the hell out of my DVD. I really want to get the audiobook read by ZQ. And, oh yeah, the complete audio version of this (warning: spoilery for those who haven't seen the movie): LMAO

Thanks to my in-laws we're now owners of a blu-ray player. This movie is our first purchase. I can't wait. The first time I saw it was in a drive-in so I'm looking forward to seeing all the little detail I missed the first time around.

Oh good to hear. Am not a fan of Benicio and can't see him fitting into the Trek universe. He ruined The Wolfman.
