Hey, somebody has to have kids the biological way. To quote Shakespeare, "The world needs to be peopled!"

No link was provided to the comment Sandra made supposedly.
In which publication did she make the statement?

I saw Miss Congeniality II on the plane going west. It was meh.
While I get what Sandra is saying about some people not having children. It's hardly a selfish act. I'm sorry but my body has paid dearly for the birth of my son. 16 months later and I am suffering quite badly from many ills caused by pregnancy. Selfish? No Selfless. If you can have children and you chose to adopt...why isn't that selfish? You don't want to put yourself through the hell of pregnancy and child birth? Too many children in the world? There are going to continually be too many, adopting isn't going to change that, nor is having your own.
If she truly feels this way then why doesn't she help the good people who can't have children, who would love to adopt, but can't afford it?
Adoption isn't for everyone. It isn't for me. I have very few genetic bonds left in this world...my son is my families little peice of imortality and one of the only connections I have left to my parents. If that's selfish then I'll embrace it with all the selfishness I have. :-)
ETA: Imortality and imorally are not the same thing. Thanks Iggypop

Okay, I've searched for the source of Sandra's comments, and the best I can find are Contact Music and Female First; both are online tabloids that stretch the truth and write comments out of context.

I love Sandy and am happy for her. The guy's fugly and kinda sleazy though; maybe she got tired of pretty actors and went for rough and weird this time.

I can't believe Sandra ended up with him. They are one of the true odd couples around.

That is true. Contact Music tends to take quotes from press junkets and put them in a sensationalistic context. But if you take out the text and just look at the quotes themselves, they are pretty straightforward: I wonder whether there's stuff about her childhood Sandra keeps hidden. She seems to come from a happy family and her parents seemed to be happily married, and yet she has some very bleak views about family and marriage.

I am not really a fan of her films, but I can't help but like her. She seems like a nice person who is more than willing to make fun of herself on or off screen.
I wish her luck in her marriage. They seem like a mis-matched couple who really do work.

I think that Sandy's issues with adoption have to do with her being adopted, and being adopted myself, I can't help but agree with her in some respect. I think most of the issue is with people having children and not understanding the enormity of the situation and being able to handle it .
Congrats to Sandy. I have always loved her.

Did you see her at a secret support-group meeting or something? Because she's never said she's adopted. And I don't think she is because she looks just like her mom. (Can't get a link to work, but Getty has pictures.)
