One benefit of insomnia is having endless time to see movies and the other night, I was lucky enough to catch Reversal of Fortune again. For something close to the 22nd time. Really, there are no words to describe Jeremy's performance. And "You have noooooooo idea" has to be one of the best movie lines ever! I love this man and he can do no wrong in my eyes. Especially after his hysterical turn on Dame Edna's show.
I can't wait for Elizabeth I to come out in the US. He plays Robert Dudley, Elizabeth's first and only love, and Helen Mirren plays the Queen. It's a British made-for-TV film which I believe has already aired in the UK and will probably be on PBS or BBC America on this side of the Atlantic. Does anyone know when it will be shown here?

Add me to the love list for Jeremy. He was sooo unbeliavably good in House of the Spirits along with Meryl and Glenn. I don't care how many people have trashed it, I love the book and was quite surprised that the movie turned out to be that good. Usually it's the other way around. He was exactly how I imagined Esteban Trueba to be, passionate, ruthless, possesive, strong and yet so sexy.I agree with whoever said that he'd make a great Heathcliff.
He has great comic timing as well. He was the only good thing about an otherwise forgettable Casanova and I loved him in Being Julia also. Great movie by the way, loved Anette's performance.
I saw Merchant of Venice last year and though he did a great job, the movie belonged to Pacino.
What's the movie he did with Juliette Binoche, the one where he has an afair with his son's girlfriend?

I have Elizabeth I on my Netflix list and it looks like more than us are waiting for it, it says Very Long Wait, ugh! Loved Damage too, it's one of my favorite movies. I read somewhere JI hated Juliet Binoche and said she was too green for that role. He was wrong, they had great chemistry.

Hapagirl, does Netflix give a release date for the film? It should be soon, right? If there is such a huge queue and wait for it there, I'll get it from Blockbuster, assuming of course that they'll have it. Sometimes, it seems whenever I go there, they have nothing but some teen sex comedy or horror movies.
I wonder why they're not showing it on television. A lot of the ITV or BBC films are shown on PBS or BBC America before going to video, if at all. Just this past weekend, the latter showed The Queen's Sister, which was about Prss Margaret; and PBS had the Virgin Queen (about Elizabeth I) in December.

All I can say about Irons is he was by far and away the best voice of a Disney villain I've ever seen.

Wonderful actor and sexy as hell. I've read in an interview a long time ago that his father was a very serious man and told him that a gentleman never laughs, so he was quite the depressive type. So it's surprising for me he's got a sense of humour. Maybe that article was full of bs.

Speaking of the Lion King, I think it shows Jeremy's very British, self-deprecating, ironic sense of humour because he actually parodies his famous line from Reversal of Fortune. At least, I took it as a joking jab at himself, in part if not in whole. I have to echo someone else's earlier comment about his sexiness in Die Hard III. Honestly, he makes that movie one of my favorites. Between the drawling Germanic accent and the buff body holding a submachine gun, I just puddle. My military obsession mixed with my love for Jeremy Irons... it doesn't get much better than that.

Somehow I hadn't heard about this despite being a period drama freak. Sounds interesting, and I hope I get to see it. I know talented Brits must lend their credibility to a random blockbuster every now and then, but didn't he learn anything from Dungeons & Dragons? He'll be appearing in Eragon. *shudder*
