Over in the Embarrassing Celebrity Crush thread, there's a whole lotta sheepish love for Mr. Irons. There's no reason for you Jeremy-fans to hang your heads in shame! Jeremy is fabulously talented and sexy to boot.

I adore Jeremy Irons. Just love him. His "You have no idea" from Reversal of Fortune is one of my all-time favourite movie lines. Not so much the line itself, but his fantastic delivery. He clearly has a great sense of humour and great comic timing. At the Oscars, I thought he was funnier than any of the "funny guys." And yeah, he's really sexy. Nothing embarassing about that at all.

I had a massive crush on him in the early/mid 90s. I must have seen Damage a few hundred times when it came out. (Well, a slight exaggeration, but I still saw it a bunch!) Jeremy Irons dangly bits! The man is incredibly sexy, has a great voice, and a wonderful sense of humor. Loved him in Brideshead Revisted, too, and just about every film he's done except for the diabolical twin gynecologists. Good movie, but the premise gives me the creeps!

I must have watched Lion King a thousand times. Is it wrong to have wanted Scar to win?
Or rather, is it wrong to crush on a non-human cartoon character, if his voice makes your ovaries explode?

I couldn't stop watching that movie either. And I saw this thing called "Brideshead Revisited" or something. That was were my Jeremy Irons lust was born.
I don't know why I find him so hot but I do. And it scares me.

I adore him. I think the attraction is his voice and mannerisms. Wish he'd do more stuff, I never see him anymore.

Oh wow. Thanks for that link, ribbue.
Jeremy was in The Merchant of Venice recently. I had to watch it for a class, and many people in my class commented on how good he was. One woman mentioned how compelling his chest was and the teacher didn't know if she was serious or not. She was.

One woman mentioned how compelling his chest was and the teacher didn't know if she was serious or not. She was. That is simply hilarious. I mean, how could the teacher not realise she was serious? Ahem. I just love Jeremy's Iron. I think the movie which did it for me must have been Damage. I remember watching it when I was really young, about 15, and it stayed with me for a long time. Jeremy's way of portraying lust was just breathtaking. I then saw Lolita (in which he managed to be creepy yet sexy yet disturbed yet just.so.sad you had to feel sorry for him), and M. Butterfly after that. Well, that was it. I've loved him ever since. I'd just like to mention a favourite of mine: Kafka. I happen to be an avid fan of Franz Kafka's work, and I thought the rather bizarre Soderbergh-directed movie about his life and his work is definitely worth a look. Also, the pictures: simply gorgeous.

His presenting at the Oscars was classic. There was a loud bang somewhere and I can't remember what exactly he said, but it was something like "I hope they missed" or something. Obviously he has a very sharp and quick wit.
But did anyone see him in Dungeons and Dragons? UGH. What a terrible film. The director was horrible and Jeremy was chewing up the scenery. (A good director will not let you do that.)
We watched the special features on the DVD and there is a behind the scenes where Jeremy looks miserable and pissed off and kind of storms off the set. I don't blame him. One of the worst movies ever.
