Hey - That trailer for the Elizabeth mini-series is sexy! "Kiss me, Beth..."My knees nearly gave way! hope that's JI's and not Hugh Dancy's (aka Chris O'Donnell Mark II) voice. I don't think Jeremy and Juliette got on at all, the poor dears. I like them both, and they both have a definate bitchy element to their personalities, so the melodrama of it kind of cracks me up. He bitched about her acting (as he often does - he had a recent jibe for Siena Miller) and she accused him of tongue kissing her during rehersals - which Sinead Cusack denied to the press! ;D I really enjoyed Stealing Beauty, which most Bertolucci fans seem to hate. It is such a summery and relaxing movie, and looks great - and how could it not with that cast and location. And thanks for posting the K pics. I worship Milla Jovovich, so the the gorgeousness is almost unbearable. I like the DKNY pics Mila took with Gary Oldman, too.

A little more than 2 weeks until the series begins, Hal9000. I can't wait. My British friends who have seen it loved it. And some reviewers have said that Helen Mirren's Elizabeth is as good as the legendary Glenda Jackson portrayal, if not better!

It will get to Australia whenever TPTB feel like showing it. So probably in 2010. Make you you post about it here, Kafka!
This thread is convincing me to rent Kingdom of Heaven. I hope he has a good part.

It's already showed here in S. Africa. I didn't know it was brand spanking new. It was all right. I didn't love it. I love Irons and Helen Mirren, but they both seemed a bit old for their parts.

This thread is convincing me to rent Kingdom of Heaven. I hope he has a good part. Irons was one of the best things about the film. In my opinion he managed to make the character seem human and go beyond the basic "Ah, we need a cynical realist, get one of them old Brits" thing. I'd say KoH (even the apparently inferior theatrical version) is worth renting for the performances of Irons, Edward Norton as the king and Ghassan Massoud as Saladin.

Ouch, this interview doesn't sound good. (I wish I could link to the whole thing but it seems to be subscription only). Jeremy Irons is one of my absolute favorite actors, and I'd direly love to excuse his interview interaction as a one-time thing, but it sounds very far from it. That said, it's going to take a lot more than this to damage my adoration for the man. (Yes, I'm biased. I fully admit it. ;D )

As has been said, this is where crushes go to die. Sigh.
