Question -- okay, so Jacob "imprints" on Renesme. But like, she's immortal, so when he eventually dies, she's all alone, and probably going to be morbidly depressed for the rest of her life. WTF? Unless you can create a vampire/wolf hybrid. (Which would actually be kind of cool) I hate to confess though that I find Peter Facinelli VERY sexy. My guess is that she'll probably find someone else. Then again, this is S.Meyer we're talking about. So Renesme will probably spend the rest of eternity crying and gnashing her teeth over Jacob. She'll proably drive the rest of the vampire family crazy. And hey, I find Peter Facinelli sexy too. Mike Dexter FTW!

Does "imprinting" mean that both are soulmates? Or only the one? Or maybe she'll pull what her dad did and try to off herself.

I'd read a book about Renesme coming of age that acknowledges how creepy and gross it is to betrothe (is that a verb?) a toddler, and deals with her trying to escape her dysfunctional family and arranged marriage with a creeper almost twenty years her senior. Seriously, what if she grows up considering him her nice uncle and doesn't WANT to have a romantic relationship with him? Someone should do a The Wind Done Gone-style unauthorized sequel (except one that doesn't suck). Seriously, that would be awesome! I think one of Meyer's major flaws is that she doesn't really think of the consequences of her characters actions. It's totally possible that Renesme (ugh, I still can't get over that name) will not love Jacob, and like someone mentioned above, even if she does fall in love with him, one day he'll die and she'll probably be all broken-hearted and Bella-like. I always hated the fact that Bella was so willing to become a vampire without any real thought as to her future. She never really considers everything that she'll be giving up. I was hoping that in the second half of Breaking Dawn, she would at least feel overwhelmed by the fact that she's going to live forever, or be with the Cullens forever while her actual relatives all die, but no, she's just extra sparkly with all her fantastic vampire powers. Ugh.

Oh, and is it just me, or did Meyer steal Rosalie's story from Titanic, for the most part? Only she gets to keep Jack, er - Emmett, in the end.

THANK YOU!
She also creates such a clumsy, half-assed secondary fantasy world with little rhyme or reason. It just IS! And it SPARKLES too!

Unless you can create a vampire/wolf hybrid. (Which would actually be kind of cool) I hate to confess though that I find Peter Facinelli VERY sexy. Actually, Jacob won't age either, as long as he keeps wolfing out periodically. Somebody actually wrote a pretty good fanfiction about Claire and Quil that revolved around imprinting. Don't have the link, but it's up on FF.net and it's called "Condemned", if anyone wants to look for it. As you might guess from the title, it doesn't exactly sing imprinting's praises. Who else here loves Leah? She's pretty much the only character I can stand, aside from Carlisle and Esme. And she racked up the cool points when she told off Bella. 'Bout time someone said something. ETA: I bet that Stephenie would just say it's because I've never been truly in love before -- and she's right, I haven't, so perhaps I'm coming at this from the wrong perspective -- but even with the prospect of Jacob being immortal, too, the whole immortal vs. mortal dynamic among the werewolves is so messed up. So Jacob has his Renesmee. Will that make it okay as his friends die, one by one? I imagine that Quil and Embry aren't going to wolf out forever; Quil in particular will probably quit once Claire is his age (ew). All of the wolves will end up being different ages or whatever, because they will presumably quit at different points in their lives. That would just be weird. Jacob will still be a teenager when Quil is an old man. It's just, we don't live or love in a vacuum. Your true love may be the most important connection in your life, but it's not the *only* connection, nor should it be IMO. If someone offered me the opportunity to live forever with the person that I loved, I don't know that I'd take it because it'd be like leaving the rest of the world behind, letting my friends and family move on without me, while I stay behind. Then again, Renesmee is Jacob's center of gravity. Or whatever.

Oh well, even if he does die, "her heart will go on"*
Another thing I wondered. Do vampires poop? Would it be sparkly? (Or would it just be pee, since blood is all liquid? And would their pee be sparkly?)
*It may have been hella cheesy, but Titanic is a million times > to Twilight. Rose would have kicked Bella's sorry ass.

Hmm, I think one of the contradictions she got caught in was stating that vamps have no bodily fluids but then later having Bella get pregnant. So I have no clue if they'd piss glitter.

I thought the books showed Jacob/Renesmee was not a given by introducing that other half-human, half-vampire guy at the end?
