I'm afraid to click ... That said, I did see a girl last week wearing a T-shirt that said, "I kissed a vampire and I liked it." I weep for the youth of our country. At least she appeared to be a teen and not, you know, a mom of three. I did not know that you saw bitca last week! Oh, the New Moon one- argh! I could not get past the point where the guy in the skin tight tee jumped in front of Bella. Sweet Moses.

Oops, I spilled the beans! Did I mention that the girl in question was also sporting a smudgy-looking tattoo of a tiger (?) on her abdomen, and had rolled her shirt up to give passers-by a better view of it? Hot!
Topic (sort of): A friend of mine recommended a book to me last week by saying that "Stephenie Meyer gave it a good review."

That's not the only one, sadly: My VampireNew Moon (Hurts the Most) (This one is really, REALLY bad. Someone at the sf_drama community used the phrase "secondhand embarassment." Totally fits this one) Rascal Flatts is rolling in their grave, having died of laughter. Well, how could you resist? What was it, btw?

I just want to crawl into a whole and hide -- and I'm not even her. I want to make a tee-shirt based on my icon.

Do it on CafePress, Guin. (And for the record, my shirt does NOT say "I kissed a vampire and I liked it." ) ETA: Also, my boss just confessed to me she made a t-shirt that says on the front, "I'm like Edward." and on the back it says, "OBSESSED!" Oh dear.

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. My friend assures me that, despite SMeyer's endorsement, it's very good.

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. My friend assures me that, despite SMeyer's endorsement, it's very good. I have it on good authority from two librarians--one youth services at a public system and the other an elementary school media specialist--who both think it's an amazing book. They cannot wait for the sequel, either.

I read The Hunger Games with some uncertainty because of Smeyer's approval, but it's really, really fantastic. In fact, I gave a copy of it to my Twilight-obsessed 13-year-old cousin, and it actually made her forget about Edward for a week or two. Just try to forget that Smeyer likes it, too. Homegirl wishes she could write a book like that.
