I was hoping it'd be a "shits and giggles" thing, but....
There is NO character development. NONE. I HATE that! And if someone "smirks" or "grimaces" ONE MORE TIME....
Stephenie may be #3 on my Hate list now. I can't BELIEVE someone published this without HEAVILY editing first!

I'm glad I never read them. The girl always screamed "crazed fangirl" to me and I just couldn't even waste a single minute on the books.
Thank you for securing my chances of never backing down from my Twilight loving friends and stay clear of it at my bookstore, Dwan!
I think Ms. Meyer needs to find a way to give you some of your time back.

Dwan, you're braver than I am. I got two chapters in, realized that it was so boring I wanted a nap while standing up, and never tried again.

I am seriously at a loss deciding who is a worse author, SMeyer or Winter Rose.

Has anyone read Meyer's short story in Prom Nights from Hell? The book features a selection from five YA authors. Meyer's story was OK; it has an interesting concept (a society of demons) but eventually goes into mushy LuvLuvLuv mode. (It was a hell of a lot better that Meg Cabot's offering, though, which was just a lazy rehash of every other story she's done.) I thought it was interesting that Meyer's story raised the issue of domestic abuse in a teen couple, considering what many say about Bella and Edward.

WinterRose inspired giggles. SMeyer makes me want to belt her with a thesarus, The Gift of Fear and a copy of Buffy vs Edward.

WinterRose inspired giggles. SMeyer makes me want to belt her with a thesarus, The Gift of Fear and a copy of Buffy vs Edward. Plus she also got millions of dollars in royalties for that trash. (Are y'all sick of hearing me wangst about that yet? ) I did a dramatic reading for THTM last night. He declined to have me read more. I offered, b/c he read all the Harry Potters outloud to me, but... no. I think he's jus' jellus of Edward!! The good news is, I've been enjoying cleolinda's take on things. Like, OMG, Midnight Sun?!

I starded reading Midnight Sun and I was like, "What?" Like, Edward's take of the events completely don't match up with Bella's. Even their encounters. I could see his POV, but, yeah... It's, unsurprisingly, a hot mess.
