Through some glitch I am still able to view Jezebel and Deadspin in the old formats. I looked at the url and if it is ca.jezebel.com I am able to see the old design. Same with Deadspin (ca.deadspin.com). It doesn't work with Gawker though. I am not sure if this is a Canadian thing or how long it will last but it is nice.

Ooh, good tip, bronze! I'm in the US but the ca.jezebel.com site shows up in the old format for me. Glad to avoid the headache of the new format.

The Gawker redesign is the worst I have seen. It feels like it's actively working against me. The link collection sometimes takes ages to load and scrolling it is so slow; scrolling down the article is slow as well. And the comments section is a pain. It's like it was all designed to maximise page views and screw over visitors' convenience and ease of use.

On both gawker and jezebel, I've noticed a marked decline in the amount of comments. I really think they're losing many viewers because of this horrid redesign.

I don't think the any of the Gawker Media sites can survive without the comments which are usually have the most insightful and informative writing. The blog writers, with few exceptions, really aren't that good.

And half the comments on any given article are tying in the story into a snark against the redesign. (This is especially pronounced on Gawker.) -- I don't have real interwebs at home so I read all their sites in the Mobile Iphone format but even I know the design is a major FAIL based on how unhappy commenters are.
For anyone looking for an alternative, I highly recommend NY Mag's Daily Intel/Vulture -- they cover similiar bases (New York, Pop Culture) and have the Best Gossip Girl recaps. Unfortunately, with Salon's Broadsheet being shuttered and Slate's Double X being kinda lame, I really don't know of good Jezebel alternatives. Any suggestions?

Gawker page views. What a drop! No wonder there are so few comments - people really have done what they posted they would do, stopped visiting the sites. Are they going to have a fast re-redesign or act like it's a total coincidence their page views this week have been at least a million lower than usual? I don't know if I interpreted that site correctly, but to a non-expert it doesn't look like things are going well.

Did Crazy Days and Nights change it's format? I've been having a hard time getting the site to load properly the last couple of days.

What's going on with dlisted? It loads and then immediately drops. Is that what happens when you dare to speak against Ryan Murphy?

I just wanted to second the Double X lameness comment. And I <3 the GG recaps on NYMag's website. I love their main pages for the show.
