The Gossip Sites : From DListed to Perez

Ordinary LiveJournal is working for me but I can't seem to open Oh No They Didn't. I know there's been some DDOS problems in the past weeks, but is it hitting ONTD harder than regular journals?

I thought ONTD was now a member of Celebuzz. I know I regularly have problems loading Justjared. ONTD might be getting it from both ends. A victim of the DDOS attacks and server issues at Celebuzz.

IMO, JJ has become a celeb whore/publicist, while MichaelK is keeping it real & snarky. I love MichaelK.

Thanks for the link, and ITA with you. MichaelK saying he has the opportunities to hang out with celebs but chooses not to says a lot. Shit, if Sienna Miller is thanking you for being supportive rather than throwing you a yooge stinkeye, Jared, you are doing it soooo wrong.

I don't think Jared is doing it wrong - it's just different. Snark isn't everybody's thing and I think of JJ as a photo site, rather than a gossip site. Michael K cracks me up, but sometimes you do just want to look at the pictures and see the outfits without several paragraphs of commentary.

JustJared is like the photo version of People Magazine. They're both celeb friendly but that's what they're there for. Expecting snark from either is kind of like being surprised TMZ said something classless.

I go to JJ. He has the best pictures, but when I have to wade through multiple posts of Kate Bosworth, Rachel Bilson & that hippy Aussie actress, it becomes a bit too much. No one is clamoring for posts about those 3. No one. It's the fact that he obviously has some financial relationship with their publicists that grates. It's his site & I really shouldn't care, but it does. I like real celebs. Not these unemployed actresses who are desperate to keep their name in the press.

I love MichaelK. He's not just funny. There's something almost charmingly self-deprecating about him:

He doesn't take what he does super seriously. LOL
