The Gossip Sites : From DListed to Perez

I'm another ONTDer. I don't have a LJ account, so I never post there, but it's pretty much the only one I bother with anymore.

I used to like Pink Is the New Blog as the guy, Trent, seems pretty decent. At least he still seems to have a soul. He's an old school Britney fan, so he veers from being all glum and depressed about her exploits to being ridiculously optimistic every time she showers, or something (not often).

I'll still look into The Superficial from time to time, as his commentary is hilarious, but half the time it's posted on ONTD anyway.

ONTD has everything, from every other gossip blog, so there's not much point going anywhere else. The only thing that wrecks my head about it is the posters obsession with bodies. Like, if a nude pic goes up then all they can talk about is how disgusting her bush is, cos she has the audacity to not have a Brazilian. Or how pathetic her boobs are.
Seriously, I've seen them call people like Hayden Pantierre fat. There are only two women in the entire world who get a pass on ONTD, and that's Kate Winslet and Helen Mirren.

But then they hate all the men posted too except for John Stewert or Colbert. They tolerate David Beckham for the hotness. Recently they've fallen back in love with Colin Farrell because he's been doing some nice things for the homeless and the Special Olympics lately and has a disabled son he's sweet with. But for everyone else? CONTEMPT! ;D

But I have to say, some of the posters are so damn funny with their jaded little spiteful remarks that I sit here at work and just laugh my ass off. Even the avatars can be hilarious.

What makes the Perez site so hateful is the way he keeps inflicting himself and his ego into the proceedings.

The little icons of him that grace the top of every page.

The previously mentioned childish doodles he scribbles over the pictures.

The frequent posts that are nothing but readers sending in pictures of themselves with "We <3 Perez!!" signs.

And, worst, the pics of his bloated carcass and ridiculous shit-eating grin posing next to whatever c-lister he has managed to corner that night.

On the positive side, I think he is single-handedly destroying the "Queer Eye" myth that being gay automatically makes one an infallible style and fashion god.

I started going there after I got sick of Perez, and I emailed him about how much cooler he was, and he sent me a sweet little thank you back. But I got bored with his SPOILER ALERT!! 24 UPDATE!! obsessions.

Yeah, I hate those posts. I guess if you're one of the sycophants that sent in a photo it's probably exciting to see it on his blog but I don't need to see those people's ugly mugs! It takes up so much space and I already quickly scroll through half his blog as it is.

The Evidence: Let's put it this way: there's so much horrible girl-hate on this site that we compiled three gems.

I found their site about a year ago and read back through all the gossip. I love them in all their mean glory. I actually know a lot of the bands/people they talk about, and their hatred of Fred Durst is what made me love them more.

I read Pink is the New Blog the most. Also, Oh No They Didn't! if I want to see all of it in one place.
