I second bklynred's question. I hate the Google Reader re-design and have been looking for something better.

I hate the new Google Reader redesign, too. I have about 200 feeds, so all that empty real estate on the top is hugely off-putting. I was using the Google Redesigned add-in for Firefox and it was attractive and useful but disabled it because FF8 was really objecting to all my extras. You might want to look into it if you're a FF user, though.

tszuj, I have noticed that same thing, and it bugs me too! I have nothing helpful to add as to why it happens, but am curious to see if anyone knows.

For two days now, my security program has stopped me from going to ONTD or my LiveJournal Friends page with a warning that they're harmful sites. I was able to go to LJ's main page without received the warning. I wonder what that's about. ONTD has ads, but my Friends page doesn't. The problem appears to be with my account. On my home computer, I'm always logged in. I visited ONTD on a different computer and it was fine, but after I logged in to visit my Friends page I was again hit with the "harmful" warning and haven't yet dared to ignore it. Is it possible that my account has somehow become corrupted? Do I have to abandon it and start another one, or is it possible that the problem would persist even with a new account? It's just odd, because I can see the main LJ page just fine, but if I go to an actual journal while logged in I'm warned. And if it is about my account, that's kinda creepy. No idea what could have happened to it.

My newest question: Can anyone recommend a good RSS reader, or are they equally good? Thanks in advance. I love Reeder, which I have on my iPad, iPhone, and iMac. It syncs with your Google Reader feed. Unfortunately it doesn't look like there's a PC version.

Can ANYONE figure out a way to read the comments on Salon.com stories using Mobile Safari? Not that I'll want to continue after reading one or two of the examples of what passes for intellectual discourse there, but I seem to have lost the ability to do so.

Hmm, still looking for a PC reader...
Another totally different question: Does anyone use a light therapy lamp? If so, can you recommend a good one (hopefully around $100)? I have been told by the same doctor to get one for years now and I was all "uh huh, sure whatever..."
But I was so zapped after Daylight Savings last week...Yeah, this year I need some light, I can't keep getting so tired at 4 pm! Any info would be helpful, thanks. I plan on ordering by the end of this week, I'm not playing around. I feel like the people getting out of town on 30 Days of Night, if I don't get light therapy soon I will get stuck in quicksand or nod off on my computer or something!

They had a Nook as the Todays Special on QVC yesterday. With 5 flexpays!!!!
I had my card and was about to order but something held me back. What the hell? I know I definately want an EReader for Christmas. Hell BEFORE Christimas would be great too. And I can afford it. Been waiting all damn year for one. We were at Barnes and Noble this weekend and my Mom and Granny fell in love with the new Nook that just came out.
But I want the right one though. Ripping my hair out trying to decide between the Nook, Kindle, or just biting the bullet and saving up for the IPad. I could wait and get the IPad by early next year.
Or I could get the older Kindle or Nook and still get the Ipad next year. I thought I heard Amazon would have the older Kindle available for $40 on Black Friday. Shit. I am so torn.
This is really sad because it's been awhile since I have spent any real money on myself. I should be enjoying myself.
My Mom has been looking at me like, " girl, just fuckin' PICK one".

I have an iPad, and I love the e-reader features (you have access to iBooks, Kindle and Nook libraries, and I have books in all three.) But, I don't read that much - a few books per year, certainly nowhere near even once a month as I'm more of a reference reader. If you read a lot (like a book a week maybe) then I would go with the nook or kindle for comfort. The iPad is big and heavy for an eReader, and I hear that the other two are better in the sun.
