So any opinions on the new iPhones? I'm due for an upgrade so trying to decide between the 5c and 5s. Right now I'm leaning toward the 5s because it's supposed to have a better camera and flash. The shallow part of me wants a cute candy-colored 5c though (plus, it's $100 cheaper). But from what I've heard, the 5c is not much different from the original iPhone 5.

We still have our iPhone 4 units laying around, and I tried 8 times to upgrade one of them yesterday to iOS 7.
During the 8th attempt, I found a website stating that most of the "cool" new things only work on the 4s and up, and it slows performance way down. Luckily the 8th attempt failed as well, and my 4 is still on fully functional iOS 6.
So far, all I have seen about the new OS looks awful, and while a few new features MIGHT be cool, enough things annoy me that I will avoid it as long as I possibly can.
I have heard that the new phones FINALLY allow some control of the camera, so you cam adjust the exposure yourself. Yay! No more blown out concert pics! But that doesn't justify a whole new phone for me.
Traffic sent me a link this morning that reveals that the new OS actually blocks the use of 3rd party lightning cables. So, if you don't like paying Apple's prices everytime you lose a cable, or break that crappy little connector, that could be a dealbreaker as well. Frankly, as much as I love my iPhone, that Galaxy is starting to look pretty good about now....

Personally I'm liking iOS7 so far (I have a 4S.) I like that now I can swipe up from anywhere (even the lock screen) and get a control panel, it has everything I use most often: flashlight, alarm clock, brightness control, Wifi controls, and Airplane mode switch. I'll probably go for the 5C when I upgrade. I don't take that many pictures so the fanciness of the camera isn't a concern for me.

Frankly, as much as I love my iPhone, that Galaxy is starting to look pretty good about now.... That stinks. Yeah, I've heard quite a few complaints from those trying to update to iOS 7. I don't think I'm going to bother updating before I get a new phone. The 3rd party cable thing is annoying if true, though it won't affect me since I never buy 3rd party cables (I did get one once and it broke even more quickly than the Apple ones do). I think I have decided on the 5s. From reading a bit more, it sounds like the 5c is not much different than the original 5, and I do take a LOT of iPhone pics, so the camera/flash are a big deal to me. The weird thing is that Apple isn't taking pre-orders for the 5s, only the 5c, and it's rumored that the 5s is in short supply. So I don't know if I'll be able to get one anytime soon.

iOS 7.0 is causing some issues for my clients and the people who directly support them. Either it works perfectly, or it messes up their phone and they have to visit the support center we have at the office to get the e-mails set up.

Technolgy question, got on a school computer to work on papers, stuck in my jump drive then noticed the computer was acting all virusy. The computer recognised my files but did not open them. Could my jump drive be compromised now? It could be, so spring for a new flash drive and then transfer your important stuff.

Tried to log into my Hotmail account today, and Microsoft clicks me over to a "Call us overprotective..." window to verify my account with a code sent via text, automated phone call, or another backup account. Well, I've selected each option three time over the last hour and have received nary a code. I have now been on hold with Microsofts customer service for twenty minutes, and there is no end in sight. </grrrrr> I want to get my damn coupon code so I can order some shoes, dammit!

Switch to gmail. Gmail occasionally bugs me for my cellphone #, which I never give to email services, but it is only an occasional annoyance.

Frankly, as much as I love my iPhone, that Galaxy is starting to look pretty good about now....I have a Galaxy S Blaze, and after using it for a few months (got it in February no contract) there are 3 apps you definitely want: Onavo extend (creates a VPN connection to enable data compression) Mort Player - this is a file based Mp3 player that is leaps and bounds better then the stock mp3 player. Also, and this little quirk might just be particular to my model, using this player makes the music louder. Some mp3's using the stock player (when it actually works, but that is another story) are too low to hear. If you happen to be on a noisy bus or subway, the stock music player is useless. Firefox mobile unfortunately you have to use this one alongside the stock web browser, some websites don't render correctly on Firefox mobile on my phone (Huffington Post for one, and it also crashes firefox) I also upgraded this phone to ICS but this only seems to work on windows 7. XP and Vista will not recognize my phone.
