I had probably 75+ songs disappear from my iTunes recently. They were all songs I downloaded from CDs I own—Queen, Led Zepplin, Prince, etc. I have no clue what happened, so I ended up digging out the discs and uploading them again.

My iPad Air that I recently handed down to my daughter can no longer be updated. This means she is unable to play Among Us with her friends because it glitches and kicks her out. I have been letting her use my device, but that is sometimes less than convenient. I wish I would have known about this issue before I bought her gifts.

I was able to retrieve my over 30 songs by going into iTunes going into purchased and clicking on “ not on this iPad” and there they were so redownloaded them. Easy enough in the end.

So yesterday afternoon, I plug my notebook into the backup drive since it’s been over a month since I’ve backed up. It’s the second time I’ve used this device. I looked this morning. It’s doing some encryption thing and only 24% done. It’s going to take forever!!! Shouldn’t it have encrypted the first time?

I have an old Galaxy S5 where the screen does not come on. It probably is not worth much, but I can't hard reset it because I can't see the screen. Supposedly you might be able to see the screen from your TV, but I would have to buy a battery, as the original battery expanded. Any suggestions as to how I can safely dispose of the phone and make sure my information does not get out into the wild?

Maybe a jitterbug phone fits the bill? There is a flip phone version and I believe they are designed to have as few features as possible.

You might try looking for an e-cycler in your area. Some will do a data wipe for you.

I’m on a (possibly futile) search for a scrabble type game to play on iPad / iPhone with a friend on the opposite coast from me. We started out with Scrabble Classic till that went away, and were doing Words 2 until it blew up her phone yesterday and now we’re looking for something else not connected with Facebook or Zynga. I’m looking at Word Feud but wanted to see if there is anything else out there that’s not Scrabble GO. Any suggestions? Thanks!

After doing a little poking around I’m looking at Lexulous. It’s on the Apple App Store and I saw it on Amazon but as an Apple-only person I don’t know what that’s all about. I floated it by my friend and have downloaded it but haven’t registered till I see what she says. I will update if anything comes of it

Update: We agreed to try it and have started some games. I downloaded the “lite” (free) version which apparently means it has those 5-second ads between plays or games. You can choose UK or US dictionary. You can choose your avatar from their collection. Bare bones would be the description - there is absolutely nothing extraneous on the playing board. So far, so good!
