Right now I'm eating latkes with unsweetened applesauce. I always forget about making them until one of my observant friends posts some thing and then I'm 'oh! yeah!'. (They are also good with my new condiment obsession, Spicy Chili Crisp.)

Leftovers!
...and tonight we'll go over to my in-laws' for Second Thanksgiving and football. My BIL and his wonderful wife are so much fun to be with, and while my FIL is becoming ever more irascible and physically weakened, he'll probably shut up as soon as we put a plate of food in front of him...

Ever since getting my Covid booster a little over a week ago, I find I no longer like the coldcut wraps I make. I usually do turkey/chicken and ham with cheese on a local wrap. Just looking at them is starting to turn my stomach. I dealt with a pretty severe fever for a couple of days, but I am wondering if I had caught something else during that time. Either waythose cold cut wraps are starting to disgust me. Weird.

These, the damn things!Fell in my basket earlier it seems I decided that 11pm is the best time to eat a bunch of chocolate! Well they are After Eights after all...

Oh my, I'm going to have to see if we can get those stateside. I love the original After Eights. I used to serve them at parties as a hint that it was time to go.

The original After Eights are the boss, these mojito ones while quite tasty are in the shade of the original After Eights.
They also trigger a memory where I clearly ate all my uncles stash one new year weekend long ago that he left many many boxes with just empty wrappers left in the box in his house another new year weekend to fool me..
The battle of find the full boxes of After Eights in the year 1985/86 was quite epic
I swear the mojito one threw themselves at me and my shopping basket...

We instituted a new tradition for 2022 - Friday Night Pancakes. We had bought a sample package of Sturdiwheat (local company) pancake mixes just before Christmas, and I'm going through them. Tonight is raspberry pancakes.
I'm being pretty ecumenical about this - waffles, Dutch babies, and possibly French toast will also be making appearances. I've got plans for Swedish pancakes and Norwegian waffles. Maybe I'll go nuts and try crepes some night.

Mr. d found a deal in our local grocery's freezer section--large, ready-to-eat hams leftover from the recent holidays. He brought one of the smaller ones home (roughly 15 pounds), and cut the meat off the bone so it was ready for sandwich making.
I've been eating it straight out of the Ziploc container he put it in. Best ham I've ever eaten in my life...
