Yay! This thread!
Mr Cho is a LUSH addict but I don't mind because he smells nice.

So I'm totally in love with 100% juicy for my shampoo. It's the only shampoo I can use consistently without residue or buildup. But I was in the shower reading the bottle a few months ago and saw that they have the dreaded parabens, which so many other Natural companies have done away with, and loudly so.
Has there ever been any discussion/explanation as to why Lush uses them still?

Have they stopped putting SLS and parabens in stuff? I want to get back on the love train, but errgh.

I used to frequent the LUSH message board years ago (when I was still active in my addiction), and this was discussed A LOT. Employees from LUSH would answer Qs on the board and they cited insufficient research proving that parabens were actually bad as their reason for keeping them. This was a couple of years ago, though, like I said, so things might have changed by now... Anyhoo, the forum at lush.com might have an answer for ya.

Yay! This thread! Mr Cho is a LUSH addict but I don't mind because he smells nice. People I hug or get generally close to (like in an elevator) are always telling me I smell SOOO GOOD and ask what I'm wearing. Really, it's just the LUSH shampoo (and Jungle conditioner) that must still be wafting off my hair because I don't usually wear perfume. (The only time I really grab for the perfume is if I've been working out and had no time for a shower... and I do not get the 'smell SOOO GOOD' type compliments then...) I'm now all jellus because I called my BFF to tell her about LUSH's new closeness to her area and how next time I visit we can go there... But she's friggin' going TODAY! I mean, YAY for her and all... but still... BOO! I can't get down her way til next week end while she's probably wallowing in fresh face masks as I type this. (Pouty pout poutercakes!)

I need to go pick up some more Vanilla Puff dusting powder next week when I go to Georgetown. Thanks for reminding me! I can tell when I get close to the Lush store because people are usually saying, "Do you smell flowers?" Which is not at all usual on M Street.

GG, I bet it's the Jungle. I totally agree that it smells sooooo good! And it really lingers.

I find this store via smell as the sidewalk is so crowded that you can't see the sign for it. The fact that it's directly across from Sephora just makes Georgetown dangerous for me (when I worked in Dupont, and got stressed, I'd head over to Blue Mercury for lipstick). Last night I wandered over there and bought a couple of masks, bath bombs (Big Blue which made my post run legs happy) and the adzuki bean massage bar, which is why I've been smelling of cinnamon all day.

A LUSH store has opened up very close to where I live. I really want to go, but as I am living on a tight budget right now while I finish up graduate school, are there any LUSH items that you guys would recommend that would be an affordable splurge? Thanks!

The masks are fantastic--and only 6.95/pot (I get about 6 uses/pot) plus, bring in five clean pots and you get a free mask.
