I would bet money that Barry Zuckercorn will be back. Henry Winkler seemed like he was having so much fun on that show and he's still good friends with Ron Howard, so I would really be surprised if he didn't come back. The only reason why he left in the first place (to be replaced by Scott Baio/Bob Loblaw - awesome) was because he got that sitcom on CBS. Which is now gone.
I would love to see Lucille 2 back. Kooky Miss Liza Minelli was such a good match for this show, and she seemed like such a good sport. Ann/Egg/Hog doesn't have to come back since she dumped GM, it would be funny to see Annyong back, but his story would definitely be different since we learned in the last part of the third season that he was there to take revenge on George, Sr.
What absolutely has to stay are the bleeps. The bleeps were a million times funnier than actual swear words. Also the hilarious way the actors mouths couldn't be seen on camera every time a character said "fuck" - that was an order from Fox. Even with the bleeps, they didn't want people reading their lips on that particular word, so you'll notice on the show that every time someone drops an F-bomb they either have their head turned away from the camera or they are holding a coffee mug in front of their mouth or something like that.

I think they would be okay without George Michael, the only thing is that GM is sort of the moral center of the show, since he was the only one who wasn't completely self-absorbed. But Michael usually gets there in the end, so they could do it without him. Yes, I have to agree with your opinion about Michael Cera. I loved him as George Michael, and it would be very difficult to do the movie without him since he was the moral center. Like you though, I think it can be done without him, and hopefully be very successful. [J. Walter Weatherman Voice]And that's why you don't holdout on the people that made you famous in the first place.[/JWWV] (It's very sad that the actor that portrayed Weatherman died though because I really wanted to see him in the movie.)

I cannot lie, I want Ann to come back purely for the Who?/Her? jokes. Not because I love the character, but because I love the look on Bateman's face whenever Michael was trying to figure out who the hell Ann was.
And yes, Franklin! I want to see more chicken dances, too. We never did see Buster's or the kids'. Coo coo ca-chaw!

I think writers are clever enough to do it without MC if it comes to that. For example, I think it would be hilarious if they do a purposefully bad, different George Michael recast in every scene and make it a running joke.
"George Michael, you look different. Did you get a haircut?"
"George Michael, have you grown overnight? You look taller."
I don't want MC to derail the movie. I need this dammit. The cancellation of Pushing Daisies has pushed me to consider neo-Luddism.

That would be funny - sort of how they kept using different actresses to play Marta.

I wouldn't mind if his absence was explained with an easy "away at college" excuse or something, coupled with a line about how he's not putting the family first anymore.

Or have the actresses who played Marta both play George Michael!

Or have the actresses who played Marta both play George Michael! Hermano! I credit this show for teaching me Spanish and Korean.
