I think I've mentioned this upthread, but while the show was airing, I hated Abby Carmichael. She seemed unnecessarily hostile and almost always willing to believe the worst of the people she prosecuted. I think "vile harpy" was the term I used. More than a decade later, in watching the WE channel re-runs, I have come to understand and respect the character, even if I still don't like the actor.

Not even a little bit surprised about Julia Roberts. I actually love that episode and think about it every time I attend a game at the Barclays Center.

I'm never sure if I like Abby Carmichael or if Serena was so bad that all previous ADAs seemed like shining beacons in comparison. I think I actually like Abby but it's hard to say.

I HATED Abby at the time, but she's grown on me more in the long view. I didn't like Jamie and Serena's suckiness was so overwhelming that I credit her for making me rethink my anti-Abby stance. I liked Claire well enough, but Paul Robinette and Connie Rubirosa were my favorites, far ans away.

What I disliked about Abby was that she seemed poorly developed as a character, but I respected the idea that Jack needed a foil of sorts. I also disliked Harmon's extremely croaky voice and what seemed like unvarnished loathing of New York. Like, why are you even there, then?

That, too. So, so much. She seemed to hate NYC and everyone in it. So, go be an assistant prosecutor in one of the other 49 states, Abby!

My favorites were Rubirosa (she was so great with Cutter) and Borgia.

No matter how bad Serena was, though, she will never be worse than Sharon Stone when she was on SVU. Who the hell thought that was good?

Robinette, Jamie, and Claire were my faves, but that could be due to having a strong preference for the older episodes.
