Rory has been on a very specific path since she was a little girl. It makes sense that, as a more aware adult, she would want to jump off for a while. And I still think Logan is very cute, and definitely see the appeal there for Rory. However, are her grandparents that naive? Having sleepovers at Paris' house? I guess maybe they are. And I don't mind Jess in these small doses, as a friend who just wants what's best for his friend. But do you think that's really Jess' intention?

Oh. My. God. That was the STUPIDEST episode and plot "twist" ever. Some girl we've never seen before turns up 2/3 of the way through an episode so that she can prove, OUT OF NOWHERE, that Luke is her father? Laaaaaame. SO LAME. And Rory? Shut up. No, shut up. SHUT UP. She was SO annoying and unprofessional and whiny and SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP. I mean, I know you're supposed to show initiative and be persistant but NOT LIKE THAT OMG. Has ANYONE on the face of the earth EVER been hired like that? Plus, to the best of my knowledge, editors and hiring-type people do not like to see more than five or six pages of your portfolio, YOU EGOTISTICAL TWIT. And were they trying to draw some sort of comparison between LukeSpawn and Rory? Both "bright" and persistent and pretentious and incredibly annoying? Ugh. Just ugh.
However: I still love Emily. She is my favourite. I want to be her when I grow up.
And while I think Lane's boyfriend... I forget his name... was over-reacting and being a jerk, I can see where he's coming from. One of my friends has had nothing but horrible luck with her boyfriend's friends and brother (all lazy bums) crashing for an interminable "few days." I think Lane's boy should have given her a break since she was clearly trying to get a job, though.

The people over at TWOP have been going crazy with the Luke plotline for about a month now. They have been pretty mad.
I agree, it is stupid the way she just showed up like that. What, her mom just told her 12 year old daughter "here are the possible men that could be your father. Good luck on your project." Lame. They could have done it in a much better way. I guess Anna is going to be on the show soon and the kid is going to be on all season.
The only good part tonight was the Emily and Lorelei scene and the fact that Lorelei and Rory are back together.

laconicchick, I so agree with your posting!
Why is Rory suddenly acting like screwball annoying comedy girl? All that "Boss" shit was so irritating. Too bad they didn't call security on her ass. I swear, the scene where the editor was on the phone with her, telling her he would give her a good reference, it felt like they would pull back and Logan would be standing there, the editor sounded that fake!
Emily broke my heart on the plane, why couldn't Loreli just give her a pat on the back?
I was spoiler free, but when that pink helmeted idiot walked in and asked for "Luke Danes" I knew where that was going and started saying "F**k NO!" at my TV.
The girls getting back together was too rushed and hokey. This episode felt like it was written by 12 year olds. "Rory your my BBF!" No Mom, your my BFF 4evah!"
Next week, Christopher's a gazillionaire and Luke is torn/troubled! 12 year olds, I tell ya!

I hate how they try to make Rory look all funny and quircky but she comes off as annoying and stupid. I know it's a TV show but if an intern remotely acted like that at all, she would be laughed off the property.
I just want to punch her. Especially when she offered her little helpful tip. Are we supposed to believe that Rory is so brilliant that she knows about this software and no one else does? Rory, sit down honey. The grown-ups were talking. And with the receptionist when she was like "Hey--you've got someone on hold" Oh thank you! Oh THANK YOU, Rory. How will anyone ever do their job without you? How does the world manage to turn without your help?
Ugh. HATE.
ETA: Another thing that bugged me was when Michel said he got a reference call for Rory. OK, so did the paper without any openings decide that since she's hanging out in the lobby so much they should check her references? Wha? Plus, why would you put the guy who works the front desk at your mom's hotel as your reference? Has she ever worked there? Ever? I would think including Paris since she's the current college editor, the editor from her internship and then a professor would be fine. Not someone who works with your mom.
Not to mention that when I interned at a television news station, I never ever had more than one conversation with any of the higher ups.
I hate this ScienceRory too. One is bad enough.

So glad Luke told Lorelei they had to be all truthful to each other.
The best part of the show was Lorelei's comeback to Lane's boyfriend when he asked her to chip in for Rory's rent. HA.
Actually it is PAUL ANKA.

Am I the only person who liked the episode? It's okay if I am - you guys made good points. Rory was annoying - but I was glad she finally got her a*s in gear and got a job and made plans to return to school. She's so annoying though.
Lorelei and Luke -the furniture thing was dumb. But the fight at the table was hilarious, especially when Suki responded to her husband's question about whether the burger topic had caused the fight. I snarfed my cola on that one folks.
What's the deal with Logan? That jerk's gotta go. (But he is hot....but Jess is hot and mysterious and good for Rory).

I watch this show because of my passionate hate for it, and I bawled like a baby when they hugged at the end. I had to call my mom to tell her I loved her, and she was crying too. Awwww.

Did anyone watch last night? I missed it. Luke has a crisis about what he learned last week, right?

I only half watched it. It was kind of a lame filler, place holder show. It was Lor and Ror are back together again...woopdeedooo. Lane and her band. Brian wrote a song about her which set Zach off. They had a big important gig where Zach had a "I'm the lead singer" melt down. They never played anything because Sebastian Bach (I don't know his character's name) attacked Zach. The whole band fought on stage. Lane cried. The band stuff was the best part of the epi.
Next Christopher met with Lorelei and we found out that he inherited a bazillion million dollars from his dead grandfather. He offered to buy her anything she wanted....she wanted nothing...he wanted to buy Rory everything, she just asked him to pay for Yale.
Then Liz was harassing Luke using his kitchen and so on the make Thanksgiving dinner for her friends. Luke confided in Liz about his daughter. She was all teasing and jerky about it. Luke just talked at her THEN decided to KEEP the truth from Lorelei. Now of course we must remember that he himself told Lorelei that they must be truthful with each other (See big burger/furniture fight over Christopher).
If there was anything else to the episode. I wouldn't know. My attention got diverted elsewhere.
