That Republican/baseball interview last night was great! I'm glad they chose to NOT appear—way funnier and way more revealing.

I just shook my head and thanked my lucky stars that I don't live in DC.
Did anyone else catch his comment after he showed the Connie Chung tape? He said, "And I'm fake."

I loved how Bakkedahl got that reporter to speak for him. Hilarious, especially since he was so dry about it (and refused to say "dildo." Hee!).

That's funny, because LaconicDude thought the Bakedaal (sp??) piece was a desperate attempt to salvage something that crashed and burned but that he couldn't get out of. Heh. I was fairly amused. I thought the reporter was a nicely odd touch. And the hangup part was funny.

There's something about Bakkedahl's pieces that seem a little off to me. Granted, it always takes me a little while to warm up to "new guys" (and there are some correspondants that I NEVER warm up to at all) but there is something about him that creeps me out, especially after his field piece on hot chicks who hawk prescription drugs. I'm so sad that with Rob leaving, Bakkedahl has been made a senior correspondant. Boo.
Jason Jones has grown on me. A lot. Of course, it helps that he's effing hot (although he reminds me of Huey Lewis...and some guy I know that also reminds me of Huey Lewis). They should give him more field pieces, because that story from last week about legalizing drunk driving on weekends was comedy gold. Scary, but comedy gold nonetheless! Yelling "Democrats rule!" as he drove into the trash cans had me laughing for at least twenty minutes.

Jason Jones has grown on me, too—I kinda hated him at first. I also enjoy the guy who's in the Apple ads, who's name, of course, I forget.
However, who has NOT grown on me Demetri Whatshisname. Unfunny hipster.

I don't find John Hodgman as funny as other people do (and, as I discovered last night, am the only one in my family who find the Mac/PC ads annoying) but ITA that Demetri Martin needs to GO AWAY. Everyone was falling all over themselves about his Myspace piece...I couldn't, for the life of me, figure out why. Myspace pretty much mocks itself, it doesn't need some douchebag indie kid pointing out why.

Dan Bakkedahl's pieces always seem like the kind of thing that sound really funny (like the New Year's resolution of fitting his fist in his mouth), but don't quite translate well to actually happening.

I was just re-watching the old Colbert/Carell "Responsible Drinking" segment on Youtube. Man, that is funny shit. I love how Colbert is practically laughing during the whole thing. This show used to rock.

God, they were hysterical together. "Now touch your eyeballs." "I don't wanna touch my eyeballs!" "DO IT!!" I highly recommend watching all the old Even Steph/vens on YouTube (if you haven't already), plus the faux reality show they both did with Jon (Pitch).
It seems like correspondants doing pieces together these days is rare, the Corddry brothers' own interpretation of Even Steph/ven notwithstanding. I seem to remember Steve Carell and Nancy Walls (who were married, even though it took me YEARS to figure that out) doing lots of segments together, but have Jason Jones and Sam Bee done anything besides his New Year's Resolution about being a good dad? That's the only thing I can remember. Point is, none of them seem to collaborate anymore, which led to some of the funniest/most memorable correspondant moments from way back when I was in high school...
I do love the Bee/Jones piece though. "We had a baby. It's a girl." "Does she have any food!?" Heh.
