Just to help you with the time line, bobblehead, the Hamptons episode (where Harry tells Charlotte he has to marry a Jew) was the season finale, so if you watched it in the original time, much more time had passed. A fact which obviously is lost in reruns. Oh okay, that makes a little more sense now. But still, Charlotte went from being grossed out by this guy to being in love with him pretty fast (not that that's a bad thing, I love Harry) and didn't they get married in the span of a month or something? Maybe it's just me.

Now I love Harry as much as the next person, but in that one episode when Charlotte is determined to accommodate his quirks, he spends half the episode running around their apartment naked....eww. He had a very strange body.
BTW, for those watching on TBS, how could they possibly handle that? I mean it was a LOT of nudity.

With the exception of in the gym, I don't think any of these women would wear sneakers in public. Remember when Samantha wore those heels to go talk with the tranny hookers? Who just keeps $600 shoes lying around by the front door for running out on a quick errand? This annoyed me sooooo much. Carrie was always literally running around New York City. Running! In 4 inch heels. Even when she was walking Aiden's dog, she was wearing track shorts and 4 inch heels! Then the dog got loose and she ran after him! My feet start hurting after a night clubbing in 3 inch heels.

Yeah, Carrie figured out in one episode (the period when Aiden moved out and she had to buy her apartment or get evicted) that she'd spent $40,000+ in shoes ALONE (Manolos and Choos). Riiight. Someone who writes a weekly sex column could afford a zillion pairs of $400 shoes like that. Of course, I'd absolutely KILL for her shoe collection, with a couple of exceptions.

I was re-watching the little featurette they did before the last ep of S&TC, and I guess it was the (crazy) costume designer who said that people wondered how Carrie could afford her wardrobe, and she sat there and was like, "Who cares? It's a TV show," or something like that, that it's supposed to be a fantasy or something. I work two jobs and live in St. Louis, which is far less expensive, and I'd have to save up for months before I had enough extra money for ONE pair of Manolos.
I also only have one credit card, pretty much maxed out w/ a $500 limit.

I don't know if I buy the whole shoe fantasy bit. I figured as viewers we were supposed to understand that, being flaky Carrie with her warped priorities and all, she'd probably amassed a mile-high mountain of debt along with the shoe collection.

That's why I liked the episode when she couldn't afford to buy her condo. She didn't have any money saved. She had a mountain of debt and couldn't get a bank loan. It was the only time she had to face reality. Of course, the story quickly changed back to fantasy with her friend bailing her out.

Carrie's whole "A girl needs her shoes!" attitude could get so annoying. Debt crisis is not as endearing as she would like to make it seem. And I mean, the woman never did anything charitable except for giving a homeless man a dollar in one episode, and yet she would just go around trying to make her unrealistic shopping addiction come off all artistic and shit.
I really liked Miranda as the show went on, but she was kind of hard to towards the beginning of the show. She was always going around saying things like "ALL men are SUCH assholes!" but it wasn't like she was without her own bullshit--she had a lot of difficulty coming to terms with her own emotions, yet she was never particularly sensitive when Steve would have difficulty dealing with the fact that her yearly salary was probably about 30 times what his was. And then there was that one episode in the first season where Miranda got all upset because none of her friends wanted to have a threeway with her. What the Hell? Thankfully Miranda got a lot less self-righteous with her bitchiness as the show went on.
I remember that episode where Samantha said that her current fling had funky tasting semen, and Charlotte got all furious when Samantha said that, that she immediately got up and stormed out of the restaurant where they were eating. If I had a friend do that to me, I would be so furious.
I miss this show, even though I got sick of it for a while.

I can't stop myself from OnDemanding the eps over and over again. When I'm not spending the weekend catching up on several hours of Dawson's Creek and All My Children, this is a great way to spend a weekend.

Miranda's line, "Cancel the rice pudding", after that always cracks me up.
