I'm probably the only one here still watching this train wreck of a show, but last night's "7th Heaven" just scared me. It was all about how sexy Ruthie is, and it featured Ruthie "dancing sexy" and having a conversation with her father about how he finds her sexy.
I couldn't believe it. I remember when Ruthie was a baby when this show started, blowing kisses at the camera. It just skeeved me out beyond measure to see her writhing and wriggling her hips (all with that disturbingly blank look on her face) in an attempt to look sexy. It skeeved me out even more that her father told her he thought she was sexy. What is with the incest themes on this show?
Although I did find it funny when she said she thought guys liked her because she was friendly and fun to be with. Because that's exactly how I see the character of Ruthie.

There are so many X-Files disturbing moments. One that comes to mind is in the Never Again (the one w/ the talking tattoo). This guy gets a winking tattoo of a woman on his arm and then it starts talking to him and telling him to do crazy things. I know Jodie Foster did the tattoo lady's voice (I'm pretty sure I spotted her as an office extra early on in the ep, too), but man, was it creepy. I don't know if it was the pitch or the laugh or what, but I swear it gave me nightmares after hearing it.
Also, knowing Flukeman has been cut in half and is now regenerated into two Flukemen, w/ one safely in FBI custody and one floating around the New Jersey harbor freaked me out. Yes, I know it's only a stupid show, but the way the ending played out was disturbing. Flukeman. Gah!
On another note, I happened to catch one of those crime shows this weekend, and they were focusing on this guy who always wanted to be a doctor. He changes his name and then finds out there's an actual doctor already w/ that name, so he gets the Dr's medical license mailed to him, makes up a fake resume and begins applying for jobs at small practice offices. No one suspects him, so he just bumbles along w/ only a pharmacuetical degree. Someone catches on when Fax Doctor sends a diabetic home w/ medicine for dizzyness, and the poor guy ends up dead (when he was found, he was clutching the bottle of prescribed dizzyness medicine). Anyway, Faux Doctor goes to trial and gets a measly 3 years for writing prescriptions w/o a license. When he gets out, what does he do? Why, go back to the medical profession, of course! He gets hired by another doctor's office, only to be caught again. At one point, he's even Head of the Board of Surgery or some such thing. So, he gets caught again, goes to jail and escapes (the prison actually gave him some money and a bus pass). He hunts down his old cellmate and the guy lets Faux Doctor live w/ him for awhile, now knowing he was MIA from prison. Faux Doctor had somehow convinced everyone in prison that he was a real doctor (even the prison staff believed him) and was in jail for malpractice fraud. So anyway, when Faux Doctor escapes from prison, he gets right back into medicine. He stays free for like 6 weeks before he's caught again. The court finally smartened up and put him in maximum security. He's not set for parole intil 2018 when he'll be 84 years old or some such thing. The scariest part? The guy never left L.A. He worked, lived and went to prison there and was still hired on by doctors every time he got out of jail. can you imagine if he had been delivering babies? Makes me want to take up homeopathy.

My TiVo recorded a profile of Jim Jones last night and I got sucked into watching it. I knew the basic facts of Jonestown - mass suicide in Guyana - but I didn't know anything about Jones or the People's Temple before I watched this. It was really creepy. Now I know what the cult Kelly joined on "Beverly Hills, 90210" was likely based on!

I'm surprised nobody mentioned when Fox News' Greta Van Sustern went on "vacation" and came back all nipped/tucked. THAT was F R E A K Y!

Oh, dear doG, that scarred me for life. I was no more than 10 the first time I saw it, and I watched it again as a young adult. Never, ever again.

From MSNBC. Is this fucking sick or what? Or is it just me? Does Mary Jo get her chance to shoot back at Amy? Please! Are we that desperate to be entertained?

Dear Amy,
You're right, it is time to put that whole event behind you. The rest of us have. Unfortunately, we're forced to have it in front of us again every time one of the three of you does a TV appearance or writes a book. Please join us in putting it behind ALL of us by not doing anymore public appearances to discuss the whole thing. No one is forcing it on you. Really, you're forcing it on us.
Cordially, Anne

The Death of FarfourPolitics aside, beating to death a children's TV character in the final episode is highly disturbing.
