I really want to cut the cable cord, but Mr. Ladybug is a college sports fan, and we haven't figured out how to get games on the TV. He doesn't want to watch basketball on his phone unless absolutely necessary, which he had to do on a Boy Scout camping trip during March Madness We already have Netflix, Hulu, and Prime and I hate spending so much money on channels we NEVER watch. We can easily add Starz and HBO to our Prime membership, and they offer a lot of pro sports packages too. What about getting rid of cable and doing Live TV through hulu? Would that save money? Also I"m pretty sure I read something (somewhere lol) that Disney was going to offer their new channel as an add-on to Hulu and also ESPN. So maybe that will be a way to watch?

I got rid of cable a few years ago and I haven’t missed it.
The only sports I really watch are the Olympics, so this part isn’t an issue.
I’ve got Prime, which I use for everything anyway, Netflix, HBO and Hulu (if you can wait a day, most shows end up here). If there’s a show I’m dying to see that isn’t streaming, I get it on iTunes. That’s a one time payment of $20 instead of $20 a month for a channel with only one show I watch that only airs 12 weeks out of the year.
The good thing about HBO, Starz, etc is that you can hop on and off if you want and it isn’t a chore like canceling cable. For example, just get HBO Now during Game of Thrones, then drop it. I keep it, and I’m still paying less than half my cable bill.
But it feels like we are getting to the point where there are too many streaming services and we’ll need packages...like a cable bundle.

I don't know if this is an unpopular opinion or not, but I've been watching Killing Eve and for the life of me I cannot understand the accolades for this show! Jodie Comer is fantastic, I'm fine with any awards thrown her way, but I DESPISE Eve Polastri played by Sandra Oh. The last episode I watched was so ridiculous I almost threw the remote at the TV. I went on ONTD to see what others thought of the episode and it was just NON STOP talk about how hot the chemistry is between Eve and Villanelle, and they hope they at least kiss before season two ends and I honestly don't know if I'm just too old/cranky/cold hearted to appreciate this show?!

I know this is an UO. I watched Ted Lasso season 1 when it first came out and felt meh about it. My husband has loved it, and is up to date with season 2. Last night, I started watching season 2 with him, as he wouldn’t stop going on about how good it is. After watching several episodes, I can confirm I’m as enthused about the current season as I was about season1. What is wrong with me???!!!

I don't think there's anything wrong with you, LOL. It's a bit of an unusual show and not everyone's cup of tea. I like the show, but I can totally understand how some might not be into it.

I couldn't even make it past the pilot. It did absolutely nothing for me.

White Lotus was freaking awful. Like, I'm actively mad at this show. All I can think is that Mike White is the most sheltered person on the planet, who thinks he's pulling the curtain back to show the rest of us all the bad things he discovered.

I am intrigued by this opinion! Was there one specific plot development that especially pissed you off? I liked the show a lot. The bad people get away with it and are protected by their privilege, which is unfortunately how things work in the world. It was unsatisfying in the sense that you wanted to see these folks face consequences for their horrible actions and shitty attitudes. Pretty much all of the characters were awful in some way, but there were a few that I was rooting for.

Technically it was written well. But I hated the perspective of it. Mike White basically said, "Look, being white and rich and beautiful isn't actually great. We do drugs, have gay parents, have family dysfunction, and can be selfish, privileged assholes." And it's like he operates under the assumption that everyone must think white rich people are great-- because why wouldn't they!-- so surely this will surprise us. So of course Mike White wrote someone like Kai, the noble-savage. Basically saying, "Oh my white humanity, so depraved, if only I could be like the noble savage, free from the perversion of wealth to live humbly with honor and gratitude." Gag me. Then there was Belinda. The magical black woman in her mystical spa, earth mother answering the call to heal the wounds white people inflict upon themselves, sadly being wounded in the process. "Why," Mike White asks, "do we with so much treat these gentle souls so?" Armando, who has zero backstory except that he is a recovering addict, which is used to explain why he's a sex crazed homosexual pervert who will jump on any chance to convert the white dad in a moment of vulnerability, and abuse his power to corrupt younger men. It was gross. The only character that didn't do anything awful, who didn't hurt abuse or mistreat anyone, and the one who had a personal happy ending the audience all rooted for was....THE YOUNG WHITE MALE, Quinn. When someone pointed out some of these things to Mike White in an interview, and said maybe as a white male he shouldn't be the voice for this, he literally said, "If I took that assumption to its fullest, it would make it so that I shouldn’t even be creating anything anymore." Yes, if white people can't tell the stories of the under-priviliged from their own privileged perspective, they literally can't write anything. Okay then. And the most annoying thing was that ASMR bit. It's like he googled what all the cool young kids watch on youtube and threw it in.

I also did not enjoy White Lotus, either…
