I also did not enjoy White Lotus, either… For similar reasons or something else, ennazus? I didn't enjoy it for the reasons you mentioned. I didn't hate it, but I was pretty annoyed with it by the end. There were some really good performances throughout, which kept me engage, but the final episode was like the sad trombone sound for my expectations. I initially didn't want to watch Big Little Lies because I thought, "I don't want to watch a show about the super privileged lives of a bunch of rich white ladies in California." But once it started getting good buzz, I watched it and really enjoyed it. It offered some complexity. (I didn't watch Season 2 though.) I think that lowered my hesitancy to watch White Lotus, which is a show about the lives of rich white super privileged people. But it didn't add any interesting take to it and it was disappointing to see the same old tropes play out, albeit in a gorgeous setting.

Yes, onthepotty, my reasons were similar to yours. I was figuratively and literally grossed out by much of White Lotus.

Glad I'm not alone! Seems like the critics are loving it.

I actually liked big little lies’ first season, but made the mistake of watching season 2. I did not like season 2, my reasons were Meryl Streep’s hammy acting, and the caricature that was Zoe Kravitz’s character’s mum, among many other things…

I’m sure it’s been mentioned before, but I did not get the love for “Seinfeld”. I thought the finale was good because the selfish bastards needed a comeuppance. However, I Love Curb Your Enthusiasm, so it’s 1-1 for Larry David.

I’m sure it’s been mentioned before, but I did not get the love for “Seinfeld” I have never been a Seinfeld fan. I also can't sit through Curb your Enthusiasm though so you may hate me. Regarding Seinfeld, I like the principles mostly as they are good in their roles it is just maybe not my cup of tea? I also think Jerry Seinfeld is a terrible actor. I like his standup generally but in a show to me he is terrible. It took me a while but I remember all those years ago he had a short recurring role on the sitcom Benson. He was cringeworthy on it. Lol. For mine I never could get into Full House or Mad About You. I never understood the attraction of those shows as they seemed bland to me.

I never understood the attraction of those shows as they seemed bland to me. Full House seemed dumb to me even as a kid, but my appreciation for Mad About You definitely deepened on my rewatch as an adult. I remember watching it as a kid, though I'm not sure why, I certainly wasn't the demographic. But revisiting it as an adult, I find the themes more relatable and I really like Helen Hunt's portrayal of Jamie. I always loved Paul Reiser, so that hasn't changed, but I recall this Helen Hunt backlash from the time (there was also a Ray Romano backlash toward the end of Everybody Loves Raymond that I think just comes from overexposure to a person or show). I just remember there being this negativity around her and the character, but I don't remember why. Watching it now, I just really enjoy the layers of the character. She's a little nutty and neurotic, but also very organized and caring toward friend and family characters and there's more to the character than the just the nagging, know-it-all wife that so many 90s tv shows seemed to think all women were. They did a reboot a couple of years ago, that was a bit uneven (as I find most reboots to be), but there's a scene in one of the episodes that I feel was Emmy-worthy, the dialogue and the acting blew me away. TL;DR: agreed on Full House sucking, but I apparently have strong positive feelings for Mad About You, lol.

Please add me to the chorus proclaiming that Full House was terrible.

Full House seemed dumb to me even as a kid, but my appreciation for Mad About You definitely deepened on my rewatch as an adult. I remember watching it as a kid, though I'm not sure why, I certainly wasn't the demographic. I distinctly remember being disgusted that one of my high school freshman Home-Ec classmates loved Full House and the Olson twins. That was always a dumb, cheeseball show and the catchphrases were never funny and were always corny. Just the Ten of Us was my TGIF guilty pleasure. As for Mad About You, I loved it and watched it to the end, even though it grew more and more frustrating as it went on. When I rewatched several years later when it was on Lifetime, I still loved the first two seasons and found the rest intolerable. Really, really horrible. So much Cousin Ira and other non-funny supporting characters. And Paul and Jamie's relationship became so unpleasant. It was all sarcasm and hostility. I'm not surprised that nobody wanted to see the reboot.
