So, season premiere. Am I the only one wondering What The Fuck? If they go to the Chase/13 place I will cut a bitch.

I think that's where they're going. I like Olivia Wilde well enough but I think she's just been horrible on House. I stopped watching it when she became a major player.

Olivia Wilde will be absent most of the season due to film commitments. You might be safe.

You know, I actually prefer Olivia Wilde to Jennifer Morrison. Even though she's even more ridiculously young for being a doctor, IMHO she has a little bit more gravitas. But Thirteen's storylines are HORRIBLE. Tell me again why we're doing the the 9,000th rehash of her problems and her travel plans. (I know it's because Wilde has filming commitments but Lawd almighty...)

I don't even want to watch the season premiere. The few seconds I saw made me want to vomit. "Ooh, Schmoopie, I lurves you! Let's shag all episode long!" Between the "Huddy" and the Chase/13, it's like TPTB want to destroy the show in a giant blaze of horror.

"House and Cuddy sittin' in a tree . . . " ain't gonna cut it so I hope it's not the arc that ties the season together. The only interesting spot in the opener was the few seconds when it appeared Huddy may have been another hallucination. Plus, Wilson getting stuck in the window. Is 13 gonna come back a million times to tell everyone why she left, like last time? "How can I miss you when you won't go away..." (tm Dan Hicks and his Hot Licks, for you oldsters like me.)

Not going to spoiler this since it was a headline at Huffington Post... Lisa Edelstein is out next year. Bummer. There's a lot to criticize about the way Cuddy has been written, but I really love Edelstein as an actress. I feel like it was pretty refreshing to see how easily she combined authority, sex appeal and wit. I hate to sound like one of the melodramatic TWOP people, but I think this might be the nail in the coffin for me. If House were really strong in all other respects it could probably survive her loss, but I have no idea what the fresh HELL I watched last night. I really hate all the faux drama they keep throwing at Thirteen to drum up interest in a fundamentally dull character.

I saw it last night, and for me House's self-surgery was harder to watch than the amputation scene in 127 Hours. It was the most disgusting thing I have ever seen on television. They've gone completely off the rails here, and if it weren't for my deep abiding love of Hugh Laurie and the ever-present trainwreck factor I'dve ditched it long ago.
Supposedly next season will be the last one, there's rumors that Hugh is getting tired of it all and wants to leave.

I was wondering about comparisons to 127 Hours, never having seen the movie myself. Hugh is an excellent actor, but those scenes crystallize why this show has become stale for me.
It's an endless spiral of self-loathing and suffering. No fun, anticipation or suspense involved. I'm not invested in his outcome at all anymore. It's become one of my 'buffer' shows that I can passively watch because the acting is interesting, but I don't necessarily look forward to it.
