I think this would be great for a 'Supersize Me' like exploitation documentary. You could call it 'Sad Bastards!'

That also really, really annoyed me. Pulling your kid out of school every once in a while if they are truly competitive in a sport is not a big deal, but she's making the daughter burn the candle at both ends for cheerleading, dance and more dance. It's not as if the eight year old is really controlling her schedule.
Further, the cheer coach has rightly had it with Sharon. I hope that's a scene we get to see this week. It is bullshit to pull your child out of a team activity where the rest of the team is prevented from practicing because you aren't there. If I was the coach I'd put my foot down.
In order not to hog the board I will rip on NFL dad (& mom) later.

So with the forums down i haven't gotten to share my hate for EVIL Cheer mom. Did anyuone else hear her son (Seth i think) talk about some dance troupe she started and saying that he thinks that kids on cell phones who think it is gay sell drugs? Or somthing to that extent. If he wasn't shoved in the lockers or beaten the crap out of before i am sure he is getting the brunt of it now. I forgot most of the other crap in the show but I still love it, it tells me how NOT to parent, and lets me know that i am saner than some people. Apart from the "selling drugs" comment, I don't see what's so awful about what he said. Basically, they're haters, but he's the one who's doing something productive, and he associates with girls instead of just bragging with nothing to back it up. And maybe the other guys are on drugs. I just don't hold with the mindset that a kid who devotes himself to anything other than just being a punk should be made fun of.

Basically, they're haters, but he's the one who's doing something productive, and he associates with girls instead of just bragging with nothing to back it up. And maybe the other guys are on drugs. It was his blanket statement that "everyone with a cell phone was buying drugs" or talking to drug dealers that bugged me. To me, it was no better a generalization than the other kids thinking him "gay" for doing his dance thing. His statement also reeked of "parrotism" - meaning I got the feeling that his mother fed all that drivel in his head and he just spewed it back out. I'm eagerly awaiting the episode where CheerMom adorns herself with her child's cheer medals and does a little sing-song about winning them. The promo without context is bothering me. I need some context before I heap my scorn.

Sarah will be doing a lot of drugs in her late teens with Trenton.

I think Sarah will continue to be a goody-goody, but Trenton is headed for the pipe. In reality, I hope that he does get a college scholarship because his parents certainly aren't preparing to foot any of the costs themselves.
And a chiropractor for an eight year old!? That is wrong. I think they are taking the kid to a chiropractor because an MD would probably tell them something they didn't want to hear, such as problems of the cervical spine are serious business. I know the dad loves his kid, but he is so blinded by his own perceived failure that he can't see past that. I say perceived failure because that dad had a snowball's chance in hell of ever making it to the NFL.
Let's talk about horse mom. Did anyone notice that in the episode and in the preview for the next one Karli said "she couldn't act now." The first time I heard it it didn't make any sort of impression, but the second time a light clicked on. It's clear the mom has some image she wants to project. The first time she was trying to pretend that she didn't know anything about selling the horse (a scene that I believe was filmed prior to her solo interview where she admitted it). It was very weird. The daughter seems pretty level-headed. I usually can't stand teenagers, but Karli seems to have her head on somewhat straight. I hope she gets to keep her horse. And what was up with leaving your teenagers at a train station in sketchy Hartford for an hour? That was fucked.
Sarah and Sharon I don't know if there is anything to add except that she is a mega-bitch and why are eight year olds tumbling in suggestive costumes? Why not a costume actually built for gymnastic moves that won't expose their breast area (not that there's anything to see, but still.) Sharon buuuuuugs.

Karli seems like a good kid. Losing a horse has got to be a killer for her.
Ice skater Mom is going to send that boy over the edge. Someone should tell her never to show up at any practices or competition.

Sarah will be doing a lot of drugs in her late teens with Trenton. Nope. If any two people are destined to simultaneously appear on Cops and Maury Povich and Dr. Phil in ten years, it's Trenton and Sarah. First, they'll be on Cops after they have a fight and he 'roids out and tackles her on her front lawn. Then they'll be on Maury for a paternity test. Afterwards, it's off to Phil for a little good ol' southern advice.

What? No one watched last night as the show just gets more and more bizarre? I'm not sure who I hate more, Craig (Trenton's dad) or Sharon (Sarah's mom).
Craig is off the charts obsessed and his wife has also abdicated all adult responsiblity. I'm sure Trenton enjoys football the way most eight year olds enjoy football, but I don't see any drive from him. It's all from Craig. The kid appears to like music and even though I still think the mom is a dip at least she seems to encourage that. I also think running that sand dune thing would suck, but it would be really good for you.
Sharon. Oh God. Therapy. She is carrying a huuuge amount of baggage from her childhood of being unpopular and is projecting onto her daughter. I don't doubt that Sarah is a serious child, but the fact that an eight year old is experiencing major anxiety about fitting everything into a day is horrible. I felt so bad for her in that kitchen scene. I just wanted her mom to say, "Honey. You have been really busy and you probably need a day off." I also think that dressing your daughter up like a mini-hooker for a dance contest is, in a word, appalling.
Bryce and his mom are in denial, but that's ok. I have to admit that I am not really feeling for Bryce anymore. He is a whiner that doesn't want to listen to anyone. I can forgive him for not listening to his mom, but he keeps second-guessing everything his coach says. Kid isn't going to do well at Jr. Nationals and that's the end of skating for him.
TJ and Lindsey. Wow. I really admire TJ and her effort to keep Lindsey on the straight and narrow. I hope she succeeds.
Karli and whatever her head case mom's name is. I hope Karli gets to keep the horse and I hope her mom arrives back at planet earth sometime soon. But you still shouldn't say "fuck you" to your mom.

Was I the only one who was embarassed when Bryce and his mom were trying to tell us how masculine he is? I don't care about your values, bitches. He's an ice skater who's "into fashion". You do the math.
