Bryce has no heart in his skating. It is either that or he needs a swift kick in the ass if he wants to compete at that level. I bet deep down that he is burned out from skating and his mother.

I know I shouldn't compare Bryce to Olympic-class skaters like Boitano and Elvis Stojko, but they're the only male skaters I know of, so here goes.
Those guys are aggressive. From the moment they step on the ice, they take it over. They're like Wolverine; they take up space. They use their arms; they turn their heads; they put everything they have into each move, even when they're just moving in a straight line. And I daresay the reason they don't fall is because they have energy left over when they come down from a jump*.
Bryce does none of that. I heard someone say that he seemed to be marking his routine, which I took to mean that he was merely following the pattern around the ice and only doing the jumps. And that is what it looks like. He just doesn't have it in him. And now I'm wondering how he got into competitive skating to begin with.
*ETA: I stand corrected then. (But Bryce still sucks, for whatever reason!)

These skaters don't land the jumps because of energy, they land them because they are in the proper position. There is only one way to do each jump. If you back isn't just so, if your leg isn't in the right place, if you are leaning too far in any direction, you will fall on your ass. Figure skating is maybe the most difficult sport out there.

Everyone tried to redeem themselves last night but what the hell is up with Horse Mom. Sell the house, take a second mortgage on the house, hire a nanny and leave your kids for a two month yoga camp so you can have some me time. What the hell was that?!
Bryce, looks like he is happier wit hhis new male coach. His quote summed it up best : I want my coach to coach and my mom to love me.

Couldn't have said it better myself. I thought that she might be having a bona fide nervous breakdown, but two months at yoga camp seems more in keeping with her obvious desire to escape her life and kids. Then again, I had a friend in college that said that her mom went completely nuts when she got divorced, so that might explain quite a bit. Karli seems pretty mature so I think she'll be all right.
I have to say Sharon almost won me over last night. Sarah is obviously a driven and competitive kid and Sharon is a little wacko with it, but she really seems to love and care for Sarah apart from her dance/cheer stuff. I say almost won me over because the whole "it's hard to be the parent of an exceptional child" thing is annoying as hell.
I felt a ton of pity for old Craig. He is so beat down, it's just pathetic. His whole, "I don't want Trenton to be delivering pizzas" comment was so awful. The guy has a college degree in marketing--he doesn't have to be delivering pizzas! Craig, there is life after football and I think your son would benefit from you realizing that. Very, very sad.

They so had to rehab Sharon's image last night.
BTW, that was not a national championship that Sara won. There was what 8 dancers for the competetion at probably one of the 50 cheer organisations that hold "National Championships".

I almost wanted to start a fund to buy Disco back for Karli since her mother is the batshit crazy one, not Sharon. Though the elementry hoochie dance off had my husband recoiling in fear. Trenton's dad should get a real job, but that wouldn't fall into the 'plan', I men come on the guy hand picked a QB for Trenton and was talking as if they were going to conjoin them on a special reunion episode. What is up next bravo? I would love a band/ choir/ kids moms and dads, with all the private lessons and crazyness that i remember from my High school days. But seriously, a yoga camp? beeoch needs brat camp for herself.
