I finally saw Caprica last night. I was only going to watch a few minutes for a quick taste - but, once I started, I just couldn't stop! I really, really loved it. I think that Zoe saying, “Daddy” post-Cylon download was the creepiest thing I’ve seen this year. My gawd, yes! I swear, I stopped breathing. Zoe in all forms was awesome, as were Morales and Stoltz (still so darn hot, except for the ugly glasses). I kinda had trouble believing that little dude was going to become our beloved Admiral Adama in the future, though. He was weird! But I loved seeing all the Vancouver locations.

But I loved seeing all the Vancouver locations. I'll be hunting for apartments in the neighbourhood where a lot of the outdoor scenes were shot tomorrow afternoon!

So...still haven't rented Caprica but the complete BSG sets come out on DVD & Blu on Tuesday. The Digital Bits review of the Blu is enough to make me want to finally bite the HDTV/Blu-Ray bullet.
But here's the fantastic news - the Blu-Ray is apparently *not* Region-locked so BSG fans from outside the states will be able to play it on their Blu-Ray players! Smart move by skiffy (er, "SyFy") - pleases the fans and because it's a multi-region release, it probably cuts down on piracy in the long run.
So, uhm, who wants to be my sugar daddy/mama and buy me a nice new TV and Blu-Ray player?

While I (sadly) cannot be a sugar momma at the moment, I have to say that the switch to Blu-Ray is SO worth it. I've become such a picture quality snob now, thanks to it. The series finale was unbelievably gorgeous on SiffyHD. I wasn't crazy about the finale itself but I saved it on my TiVo for months just because it was so pretty to look at. I'm really looking forward to the complete series on Blu-Ray, even though the price tag makes me shrivel up and die a little.
I'm also really looking forward to the soundtrack coming out, too. No matter what your opinion of the show, I don't think anyone can deny that the soundtrack is absolutely amazing.

If by "anyone," you mean "Emmy voters/nominators," sadly, yes, yes they can deny the quality. My feelings about Blu-Ray and Hi-Def are mixed (and involve a long rant citing Theodore Roziak's "Flicker") but one thing I've noticed is a lot of hi-def TV and Blu-Ray seems unnaturally smooth and stripped of grain. Film has grain! It's inherent to the medium! But according to the aforementioned review by the Digital Bits, the transfer here is flawless. Little did I know they actually shot on hi-def/video and actually added grain for a more gritty/filmic feel. For those that have cash, Amazon knocks 40% off list price if you preorder. You have 24 hours to do so! If I can be patient and not blow my paycheck, I'm probably gonna ask for this for Christmas - I actually started selling off my Lost & BSG individual seasons and stopped buying the DVDs as they came out because I knew I would want the complete series boxes so I didn't want to have to spend money twice buying the individual DVDs and then the box.

FYI, "The Plan" is available right now "through alternative channels".
I haven't seen it yet, but I will tonight.

Alas, I don't have real Internet at home (I'm usually posting via Iphone), but you're teasing me so.
I can wait until Tuesday, when the actual DVD comes out, right? Or is my eagerness gonna get to me?
I think it's kind of silly for SyFy to have the Plan come out on DVD now but not have it air until 2010.
I still haven't seen Caprica pilot yet but do we have a go date/month on the actual series?

So, SyFy is still airing it? When I started seeing ads for the DVD I assumed SyFy simply changed it's mind airing it. Yeah, that is dumb. Then again, SyFy has been making some dumb decisions lately (you know like changing it's name from Sci-Fi to SyFy).

Or is my eagerness gonna get to me? It's out on Tuesday. (And might be in my grubby little paws on Monday, since my rental place sent it to me today.) Caprica is set to start airing January 22 (I assume that they're running the pilot for ... whoever didn't rent/buy/acquire it?)

I'd love to see "The Plan." But I'm plain satisfied with how BSG ended. After being sadly disappointed by watching shows like "Angel" and "Andromeda," it was a relief.
