I hated the Gorgomon resolution. It was rushed. Why couldn't they delay the resolution? It could have been a great storyline.

So apparently I'm the only one here that likes Sweets. I think he's hilarious. Maybe I wouldn't be so annoyed by him if they actually gave him something interesting to do, as opposed to "just hanging around the lab for no reason", like Ms of Arc said.

I like Sweets, but yeah, his presence made no sense. A lot of stuff in these first episodes made no sense. The Angela/Jack breakup being one of those things. It was way too sudden and senseless. It's not unrealistic for someone to know want their friends hooking up with their ex, no matter how much you've moved on, so of course Angela is going to be bothered by it. And of course Hodgins is going to be vaguely annoyed that the ex is still in town. But how that leads to a complete lack of trust is beyond me.
The way they wrote Booth seemed much more silly and slapstick than in past seasons. It was like an exaggeration, and was distracting. I really hope the season improves. I always liked the show, but this was cringe-inducing at times.

Some people (TWOP) are saying that's because of David Boreanaz's input as co-producer. I think it really started last season with the beer hat in the bath tub scene. It's like they're trying to turn this show into a comedy. Doesn't feel right at all.

That's a shame. I certainly don't mind touches of it, but these first episodes were way too much.

This week's wasn't much better. Why was Sweets in the Hazmat suit? And is Brennan's assistant search going to be like Murphy Brown's quest for a secretary? Strange also how Angela and Hodgins seemed totally fine.

And is Brennan's assistant search going to be like Murphy Brown's quest for a secretary? Dear gawds, I hope not! And, as if Sweets wasn't bad enough, now we have Female Sweets - and she's even more annoying than he is! Urgh! The peeps over at TWOP are saying that's because the episodes are shown out of order (like this one should have come before the trip to England).

This one didn't seem quite as bad as the others, in terms of silly humor, but still not ideal. The search for the assistant could be fine, as long as they don't fill it solely with silly people. Hmm. Silly seems to be my main thought when I think of the show right now. Not such a good thing for a drama.

The breakup was ridiculous.
They didn't even attempt a cooling off period or a visit with a therapist of anything.
The show should have handled it better.
I hated the London episode, just because it hit just about every Yank/Pom stereotype out there.
I love this show, but it was a bad start to the season. Let's hope they get it together.
