Sweet Jebus, I'd forgotten what an absolutely shitty writer Jennifer Lynch is. Yeesh.

Ya know, I kinda wish I were older so I could've experienced TP as it aired -- all the stuff that's standard now for hit/cult shows, it pretty much invented -- marketing tie-ins, the discussion of random references, internet fandom, etc.
I also hated Heather Graham for a good long while because of this. Audrey/Coop forevah! Seriously, Sherilyn Fenn was just the sex in this.
Watching in hindsight, it's weird to see Lara Flynn Boyle not weighing all of ten pounds.
The score is just perfection -- I love how the first season repeated 5 or 6 themes constantly but somehow they didn't get old. And Laura's theme is probably one of the greatest pieces of modern music, period.

I think TP was a bit before internet fandom. X-files seems to have been the advent of that.

It was the early days of the net, so it was stuff like mailing lists and newsgroups (I know, right?!), but it's pretty well archived, thankfully. It's a fun time capsule of sorts.

Falling by Julee Cruise is still one of my favorite songs.

Happy Halloween. You know, I hate double-dipping, but almost everything one could want is in the new box. Both versions of the pilot!? Deleted scenes! SNL bits! I'm curious as to whether they're going to keep the commentaries from the first release of S1. But still - I've never had the opportunity to see a proper transfer of the pilot. Ever.

I think TP was a bit before internet fandom. X-files seems to have been the advent of that. No, it was Star Trek. The first time I ever saw anyone use a bulletin board, c. early 1993, it was to watch a friend argue that Classic Trek was better than new Trek (there had only been two). Unless you were a computer science specialist, you wouldn't have been on the net when Twin Peaks was cancelled.

Aw, cripes. Now I'm in a quandary. If I get the box set -- which I will, because resistance is futile and the pilot version I have is the very crappy Asian release -- do I try to sell or give away my separate-season sets? I mean, if this release is just, basically, a repackaging of the original releases (plus extras), there doesn't seem much point in keeping the others, except for the fact that the original Season One is a beautiful package. Dang.
It looks like they may have added the "Back to Twin Peaks" doc that was included on the European TP:FWwM release.
I may have to cancel my trip to India in November for a TP Marathon. Well, no, but you get my drift. I thought about it, which speaks volumes.

Curses! I bought the S2 set when it was released a couple months ago, too. Let's face it, though, I'm going to buy the new mega-mega-set, because the Peaks freak in me still lives. Hopefully Amazon will offer a decent discount, because $108 = yikes!
I read not too long ago that Audrey/Coop was planned for S2, but apparently Kyle Maclachlan (likely under the influence of then-girlfriend Lara Flynn Boyle) put the kibosh on it. With that gone, the writers had to fill a lot of storyline time that would have been devoted to Audrey/Coop. So the reason that the middle of Season 2 is so random and lame is maybe due to the fact that LFB didn't want her man kissing purty Sherilyn on screen? Can we then, by extension, also blame LFB for the suckage that was Heather Graham/Annie? As if Donna weren't annoying enough.
Has anyone else heard anything about that, or was I just reading some unfounded gossip?
