I have to say that the musician dad didn't look old enough to be anyone's father, especially the father of a 17(?) year old. But then again, maybe that's just my own age showing. I am so with you on this. I kept thinking they were brothers or something in the first epi. I like it well enough to keep watching.

Did anyone watch last night?
I loved the S/B showdown at the Ivy brunch, and Serena's brother's confrontation with Blair. I'm glad the "secret" is out in the open (I was envisioning Jenny telling Blair).
I also liked the end scene with Serena and Blair, although I imagine it doesn't last long.

I thought it was a great episode. S and B's confrontation in the end made me kinda tear up.
I loooove Serena, she is no Joey Potter or Marissa Cooper. She kicks ass!
Dan is pretty!

I take back what I said previously about not wanting to watch this again. I have been watching and I love it in all its glorious cheesiness. Though I think I'd like Serena a lot more if she didn't look like a 30 year old. The other actors I can buy as teenagers, but man, she looks way too old for that part.
I didn't quite understand why Dan was so bummed about not being the Dartmouth usher. Everyone was acting like he wouldn't be able to go to school there if he didn't get the role, which seemed bizarre to me. I went to a public school in Pennsylvania and had middle-class classmates that got into Ivy League schools. Then again, all of those kids knowing exactly where they wanted to go to college was also wacky, so I'm chalking it up to the aforementioned glorious cheesiness.

Team Van Der Wootsen!!!!!!!!! Shiny Belt+Blair+Field Hockey=No!
Yeah the whole college thing was interesting. Mr. #1 in his class son of a the musician smart yet sensitive guy should have no prob. getting into Dartmouth (whether he was the usher or not.) But, the way I see it, the show is from the point of the kids and teenagers tend to exaggerate things and feel (even if they have everything going for them) put upon. So I give them a pass for that. I've worked in admissions and the way college admissions is written in many shows bugs the living @#$% out of me so I try to ignore it.
Love this show.

Blair looks like a prettier Eliza Dushku - it's weird looking at her. I expect her to go all Faith.
Chuck Bass is just so freakin' ugly. Nate's good-looking, though, and I like the fact that he's not an asshole.

The a cappela rendition of Fergie has to be one of the funniest things I've seen/heard in a long time.

I am developing a crush on Nate. I know I'm supposed to root for Dan, and he's a hottie, but when Nate gave him the drinks and sent him over to the Dartmouth rep? And those big blue eyes? Sigh.
