Cyndi Lauper's "At Last" ... Cyndi does old standards. It's a kick.

Because I am feeling maudlin today... Gordon Lightfoot's Complete Greatest Hits. Keep playing "If You Could Read My Mind" over. I need help.

After reorganizing some music and playlists on my computer/iPod, I've gotten obsessed with a CD I've owned for a while but only gave a few cursory listens to: The Devils, aka Nick Rhodes and Stephen Duffy, the original lead singer for Duran Duran. They put out an album of all the earliest Duran material, and while I didn't hate it before, I added it to a Rum Runner playlist (lots of Bowie, Japan, Roxy Music, good shit!) and... just "got" it. "World Exclusive" RULES!
*off to order*

I'm on a New Zealand music kick these days, obsessively listening to The Black Seeds, The Video Kid, Flash Harry, The Phoenix Foundation, Dub Connection, Fat Freddy's Drop ... I'm really really getting into Flash Harry. Great voice, great beats. Love!

Currently listening to Radiohead's The Bends. I know there are those who think Radiohead overrated, but I am not one of them. I love this band.

Oh, me too, Kokopelli. I adore them. I just got a DVD of a concert circa the Pablo Honey/Bends era. It is sooo good!

The Killers "Hot Fuss" and Shakira's "Oral Fixation Vol. 2." The Killers is the only new band I liked this year. They are deliciously glam and remind me of my favorite bands from the 80s.
I love Shakira's wordplay. While I love her singing in Spanish the most, I miss hearing how she puts the words together.

Sleepy, that DVD sounds awesome.
Currently listening to Disc 4 of my Citizen Steely Dan by Steely Dan (duh!) set. Truly one of the greatest bands ever wrought here on Earth. Next in line, David Bowie's Hunky Dory.
