It weird, I got into this conversation the other day and I had to think about what I always listen to or was influence by at certain times in my life.
I have only a few, what I call "Perfect Albums". That means I like every song on that album.
Duran Duran - Duran Duran (1981) Duran Duran- Rio Tori Amos- Little Earthquakes The Smiths- Strangeways, Here We Come Depeche Mode- Violator The Beatles- Abby Road
Now for the second grouping, these are albums that came close to being a "Perfect Album", but had fallen short due to having a song or two that just didn't do it for me.
Depeche Mode- Music for the Masses Tori Amos- Boys for Pele David Bowie- Low Morrissey- Bona Drag Roxy Music- For Your Pleasure Prince and the Revolution- Under the Cherry Moon & Purple Rain The Prodigy- Fat of the Land The Passion (Last Temptation of Christ)- Peter Gabriel Legend- Soundtrack by Bryan Ferry & Tangerine Dream

Yes, that concept is awesome and you may consider it stolen.

Yes, that concept is awesome and you may consider it stolen. Use it wisely, and only when it will bring the biggest impact!

Hmmm...perfect albums...I'm hard to please, so there are remarkably few of these from among my eclectic tastes:
Under the Pink and Scarlet's Walk (Tori Amos) End of Summer (Dar Williams) Let it Rain (Tracy Chapman) Janet (Janet Jackson) The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill (Lauryn Hill) Forgotten Peoples (The Ancient Songs of my Balto-Finnic Kinsfolk) (Veljo Tormis)
And here are several that don't necessarily count as "albums," I guess, but which I love all of, anyway:
Concert in Central Park (Simon and Garfunkle) Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers: Greatest Hits After Hours (Nina Simone) So I Married An Axe Murderer (soundtrack) Peter's Friends (soundtrack) The Piano (soundtrack)

I've filled out my catalog of old XTC and I hafta say... they may have their rare moments of sing-songy, nursery-rhymey lameness but, for the most part, their hook-laden songs are damn near flawless. While there are high points on each album, I find Black Sea to be their masterpiece.
I met XTC, backstage after their Drums & Wires concert back when my bf was a music producer and recorded their show. I managed to cut a CD from the master tape -- which he gave me and I still have; the CBC couldn't broadcast the concert because the fucking Canadian musicians' union protested. Anyway, this was one of their last tours before calling it quits for live shows. Andy Partridge's crippling stage fright was in full evidence when I met him. He was shaking and nearly in tears. You wouldn't have known it by the performance, though.
Anyway, the live version of "Complicated Game" gives me shivers just referencing it here.

I don't know if it's been mentioned yet, but Paul Simon's "Graceland" is... perfect.
Definitely "Abbey Road", definitely Lauryn Hill. If I were stuck on a desert island, I'd want Jeff Buckley's "Grace" with me for sure.

Perfect Albums are so rare! I have a lot of near misses, but very few Perfects. I used to have a thing left over from the good old vinyl days of perfect album sides. There are a lot of those. Sides that were so good, I believe they should always be played in their entirety on FM radio (but never are) instead of one or two songs. Some examples:
Side 2 of Led Zeppelin II Side 1 of AC/DC's "Highway to Hell" Side 2 of The Boomtown Rats' "Fine Art Of Surfacing" Side 2 of Ted Nugent's "Weekend Warriors"
An example of a near miss would be to imagine Kiss' "Destroyer" without "Beth".
I truly believe this one example is why someone at Sony invented the program feature on CD players.

I rediscovered a long lost Perfect Album this past X-mas season: The Stone Roses eponymous first record. It's greeeat. Even Noel Gallagher called it perfect.
