No way! Dangit, I missed it. Honestly, I didn't know it was airing, but I'm glad someone thought to post on this topic.
Hey, any word on this female artist name Lela (Last name, James?). She has big old fro hair?
I think I heard her song on the radio, in which she was talking about there not being any love songs. Is that her?

Got an error message. I'll try to keep her name in my mind.
Moreover. . .
Never thought I would say this, but I love this John Legend song. I don't know the name, but it talks about going to the moon and being close to God.
I guess my mother was right, in that his voice is more suited for gospel, even though I know that song isn't gospel or inspirational, but if you change the words, he is singing that particular song, as if it were a gospel song.
P.S. Jusf found out the title, it's called, "So High".

I was working on getting Leela on my morning show. Didn't work out.
Her CD doesn't really do her voice justice. She has an amazing booming soul voice....with some Ciara-level songs on that cd.
A few are good. But overall, there's too many pointless interludes, a few too many songs, just 2-3 bad ones, and bad sequencing...
I hope she gets another chance to put out something better...but at least check her cd only sold about 30 thousand so far.
A change didn't come.

Heh. She seems contrived to me.

I'm still not hearing her on the radio. I think I probably did, if she sang about there not being any love songs.
Moreover. . .
I'm glad Tweet is getting airplay. She has so much sophistication, which you rarely see in modern soul artists.

Love Tweet. Very classy, doesn't have to be out there shakin' her ass, cute face and the girl can saaang. Underrated. I'd take her over Leela "My afro is bigger than yours" James anyday.

Lol!
Too bad D'angelo got his mind messed up, because we sure need artists like him, oppose to the likes of whomever I heard on the radio singing about wanting to see between some girl's legs.
He just laid it out like that, thinking that was the shit, and he was trying to sing it sexy, but it just came off porny to me.

Too many of today's R&B is porny (my new word for the day, thanks Soul).
I miss the subtle sexyness of D'Angelo (get well soon) and Maxwell. Right now, there are no men with the same songwriting punch and stage presence as Jill Scott. I'm looking for a male Jill Scott. Anthony Hamilton doesn't count, as he is not sexy enough. John Legend, I more or less compare to Alicia Keys and he's not sexy either. There is no male out there right now who brings the sexy, has good songwriting and singing plus has an incredible presence. Kem is sexy, but no star power.
I love Kindred's new song.

See I'm not about the sexy, because I can get that from the actors. Plus, I think it's a tall order to get sexy with a sensational artist, these days.
Plus, I don't think D'angelo is sexy, and now, I really don't, since he plumped out.
For me, all a singer has to do is sing -- dammit, and take me somewhere with his voice. Then, all I have to do is close my eyes and create my own images.
