Lily Allen has already managed to wear thin with me. She's slagged off so many people now, that it's predictable and pathetic. Sure she has some catchy songs with quirky lyrics, but she's not as original or innovative as she likes to think she is. Smug bitch. That's too bad 'cause I like that song "Smile." Now she's starting to get press in this country such as the N.Y. Times article last Saturday. If she keeps it up, she'll be lucky to get any airplay in this country.

I saw Gary Numan at Irving Plaza in NYC last night. AMAZING show. I was with my young and boyfriend, both new Gary fans. My niece is into industrial music. It was her first show ever, as she is only 16. What an incredible show last night in New York. After the show, she said "He's way better than anyone I listen too".It was wonderful to see all the new fans in the audience, and he looked like he was having a good time.
II would have stayed to finally meet Gary after being a HUGE die hard fan all these years, but couldn't as I had to catch a train home to NJ. Hopefully someday...
Gary is one of the few people around who is putting new music out that is just as good, if not at times better than the old.

I have to say that I also like Paolo Nutini and I couldn't believe he was only nineteen. Though once I had a look at his video I did believe it. He's awfully young . And cute. The video is clever with its little twist in the end. I have only listened to parts of his album but I do like his voice. Man, every time I've been to the UK and come back home I once again realize how utterly crappy the music scene is here in Germany. Scheisse.

Bananarama's new music is really fantastic. As someone who tends to like their pre-WOW! albums more, I find myself enjoying their new album, Drama. It's sophisicated and vivacious dance music.

OK, UK posters, tell me about James Morrison.
Right now. I need to know.
I heard "You Give Me Something" and "Better Man" and I must say I'm hooked.
Details, please!

Mmm Beth Orton is amazing. Can I just say I love being in England for the simple fact that I can go to a pub and here the entirity of The Queen is Dead being played while I drink my snakebite and black? Because I do.

I just read on Wikipedia that Justin Hawkins, lead singer of The Darkness, has left the band. And I was getting all excited for the release of a new album next year. They're one of my favorite bands. I loved Hawkins' crazy falsetto.
ETA: I'm rather late to the Lily Allen party, but I've just been listening to her. I love her chirpy voice contrasting with her lyrics.

Yep, Justin left because of insane drug problems. TD will still go on though, as a trio. And Justin will release solo work sometime in the future. It sucks, his ego got too damn large. I don't understand how he's not well enough to continue on The Darkness but he is well enough to go solo. Idiot.
Right now I cannot get enough of Kasabian's new album Empire. It's more indie than it is brit rock I guess, but still.. amazing. Artic Monkeys are also pretty damn good.. and my love for Coldplay will never, ever fade. They're definitely the best brit rock band in my book!
