Those E-harmony commercials have ruined "THis will be" for me. Sure, the song was a bit overplayed on old-skool stations as it is, but now whenever it comes on, I think of E-harmony.

I once saw a live sex show in Amsterdam where the couple did it to Sting's "Desert Rose." That song has completely changed for me. Hah. I don't like Sting very much (or at all, actually) so it boggles me why someone would even pick that song to...have sex in front of other people to.

Yeah, at least at the live sex show that I saw in Amsterdam, they performed to Prince's "Cream". Makes a lot more sense.

Not that I was particularly fond of it before, but since 9/11, I always tear up when I hear "God Bless America" because I found it so affecting when the special session of Congress concluded that day with everyone standing and singing it.

My soul nearly died when they used The Smiths' "How Soon Is Now" on a car commercial. Fortunately, I love the song enough that it wasn't ruined. Didn't that end up becoming the theme music to the TV show Charmed? I think a little piece of my soul died when I made that discovery. The flip side of that effect would be Massive Attack's "Teardrop," which only became cooler by association with House (IMHO).

Hm..."These Boots are Made for Walkin'" (I'm sure y'all know why).
And now EMF's "Unbelieveable" has been used for some sort of cheese commercial.
Is there anything ad agencies won't do?

I just heard a Psychadelic Furs song on a commercial. *sigh* This sucks, man.
A friend of mine in high school almost totally ruined Pet Shop Boys' "West End Girls" when she pointed out that it sounded like the female vocal was singing "A bald-headed man...."
And I think Peter Gabrial might've fucked up John Lennon's "Imagine" for me.

I love me some Peter Gabriel, but he did sound awful during the Opening Ceremonies. I hit the mute button to keep my love for both PG and "Imagine" intact.
