Anyone watching the playoffs? I went to bed last night midway through the third period of the Boston and Toronto game when the Leafs were up 4-1. Imagine my surprise when I woke up this morning to find out Boston won 5-4 in OT. That is one massive choke job.

I am not a Leafs fan but since I live in Toronto now it had been kind of nice to see people walking around in Leaf gear all happy and hopeful. I'm just happy the Red Wings made it past the Ducks although I have a feeling they are going to get smoked by Chicago.

I'm a Boston fan and that was an incredible game! Though I did feel bad for Reimer (sp?) when they showed him face down on the ice after letting in that OT goal.
The Toronto fans are amazing; I couldn't imagine standing outside of an arena for 2+ hours watching a game.

TTMR is a Leafs fan, and I'm a Red Wings fan. I've never seen him so disappointed with the Leafs as he was on Monday night. The whole series, he was cautious: "Well, they're a young team, so as long as they don't get swept that will be fine." "Hey, they won two games, and that's fine." "Hey, it's great they won three games, but you gotta respect Boston." Then when he came home from work on Monday night and the Leafs were up 4-2, he was so excited. "They're gonna do it!" And then the Leafs lost. He was like a sad little boy. He didn't even curse, which he usually does frequently when watching the Leafs play. I felt so bad for him.

I'm pretty much out now that the Blues are out. Mr. carrier76 is a NY native, and he and my former-NYC-dweller friend are both putting their full support behind the Rangers. The Blues let me down in such crappy fashion that I'm hockeyed out--BUT--I still want Chicago to get their asses handed to them...I'm just afraid that is not going to happen.

Also? The Penguins need to get knocked out. NO MORE SIDNEY CROSBY. Ugh.

Could not agree more about Crosby. Detroit fans hate his guts too. Wings got blown out last night by the Black Hawks, 4-1. I don't see us getting out of the second round alive.

I hate to admit it but the Blackhawks have been on fire this season. It's disgusting to watch.

Yeah unfortunately I think Detroit expended all their energy in the first round. 7 game series, 3 that went to OT, Anaheim always seems to drain the life out of them. Honestly I think they will be lucky to win one game against Chicago. The Sharks always always choke. For the Kings it is really tough for a team to make it to two finals in a row. I hate to say it but it seems like Chicago might have an easy path to the Stanley Cup finals.
