I think Federer is now at the age when tennis players usually do decline (although even in his decline he still seems to be getting better results than one would normally expect. If he hadn't set the bar so high early in his career, I don't even know if this would be considered a decline. He seems to have had a longer consecutive run of making it to semi-finals than Pete Sampras). Plus, he's played a lot more tennis than everybody else, by making it so many Grand Slam finals so his body is probably feeling its effects. He may not be physically tired, but his mental concentration has certainly be used to its fullest potentional.
Raphael Nadal is still young-ish, but he plays his entire body so hard, I'm wondering what he'll physically be like in a couple of years.

Williams sisters are out in doubles, Federer was beaten by Berdych. And as expected, Djokovic beat down on Lu, thus prompting me to want to send angry tweets Roddick's way.

Nadal doesn't look too great today, either, so who knows, he might follow Roger. Are they all clearing the way for Murray? ;-)

Not to sound too Tony Kornheiser here, but Hannah Storm has got to dump those patterned dresses she's been wearing during ESPN's tennis coverage. Is it my imagination or have several of them contained green and purple in the pattern (in addition to several other colors)? It's like she's picked them up from the Wimbledon gift shop. Hideous. Hurray for Murray from Surrey? Until he loses, then he's from Scotland again, right?  |

Murray went out in straight sets. The Queen is probably relieved that she doesn't have to go back to another match in such a short time.

Whenever they were on camera, she was rather awkwardly but persistently clutching his knee, I guess just in case someone looking at them wasn't aware she was his date. It's not the age difference that's so gross so much as it is that he looks like a cadaver.
NBC got Bjorg and McEnroe together to re-watch their epic fourth-set tiebreak for its 30th anniversary. I'd love to see today's top players do an exhibition match with wooden rackets.
