I think it's pretty safe to say that the age of Nadal has begun. It will be interesting to see if it his Nadal not Federer that ends up winning the most Grand Slams.

Kind of glad it was Djokovic in the final: he kept it competitive and interesting for a while, his reactions were priceless and who else's father wears a t-shirt like that?
I would love it if Nadal (or anyone, really) could pull off the calendar year Grand Slam next. It's been more than 20 years since it's happened on either side. The commentators would be completely insufferable about it by the time the US Open rolled along, though.

I worked late at work so didn't get to see much of the final but I have to mute John McEnroe. I like Rafa alright but his tongue baths are just atrocious. He was like that with Federer until he turned into Federror.
Congrats to Rafa though. He was the best player the whole two weeks.

We actually ended up watching more tennis last night than football! What a great match--I love to watch Nadal.
ESPN was promoting one of its "30 for 30" documentaries last night, about the competitive relationship and enduring friendship between Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova. Didn't catch the air times, but looks really good.

The Evert-Navratilova documentary is supposed to air on ESPN tonight 8 p.m. Eastern.
What did Serena Williams do to herself? I barely recognized her when she was in the stands watching Venus play at the US Open.

Martina Hingis who just broke off her umptenth engagement to a Swiss attorney earlier this year, has gotten married. I wish her and her (sort of hot) hubby all the best.

Doesn't Martina always date sort of hot men? Anyway, congrats to them, I'm off to the Divorce Pool...;-)

Is that a joke at Radek Stepanek's expense? Sometimes I feel bad that people are always making fun of how ugly he is, but then I remember he's rich and continually dates women who are way out of his league, like Martina. Me too. Or maybe a better looking, but very feminine version of Radek Stepanek.
