I think there's two things going on there - cheekbone implants plus the fact that she is so sucked out. We lose fat as we age and the face is one of the first places to go, which is why most conscientious plastic surgeons will dissuade people from facial lipo, which can look great in your 30s and 40s and then make you look skeletal later. In the same way that you see every sinew and vein in her arms, you also see what's under the skin on her face. I can't believe you have to look as sucked out as she does to be in shape and healthy.

When reading about yet another Not! Shocking! revelation from Chris Ciccone about Sean Penn being the love of Madonna's life I couldn't help but remember this moment. Madonna was obviously flustered and for a few seconds actually looked vulnerable and sweet. A true rarity, which is why I remembered it all these years later.

I just wish she would embrace her middle age, and explore sex and sexuality from that point of view. She's so, so, so good at what she does. I hate watching her try to win back her youth and supposed vitality of youth. Looking at Helen Mirren's photos, who thinks that Lady is not enjoying a healthy sex life? Madge, you could be doing the same.

I have to admit it's interesting to watch Madge's anxiety about ageing manifest itself in this way. I wonder how much she will continue to hack up her face, over exercise, and starve herself as she heads into her 50's.

In that youtube clip she sort of had a weird resemblance to....Sarah Jessica Parker.
