Please tell me her face in those photos is face tuned or whatever. It just looks so bizarre.

After TLo made this post about Jamie Lee Curtis, I got curious about her age compared to Madonna and I looked it up. Jamie Lee is a couple of months younger than Madonna. They are the same age!

Madonna is free to do whatever she wants with her face and her body. I don't want to tell her to sit down and act like a granny. But between Madonna and Jamie Lee Curtis in the "sexy and confident 62 year old woman" contest, I'd pick Jamie Lee, even with her silver hair and lined face. She owns it. Madonna doesn't come off as sexy anymore to me; she comes off as desperate and insecure. It makes me sad for her because she's such an iconic figure but she's undercutting herself with these really juvenile grabs for attention.

It definitely is. I saw a picture from the birthday celebration she posted about on her Instagram and in all of the ones she posted her face had that anime look but in one posted elsewhere she definitely had pores and looked much more real.

I am sitting in a dark room with my phone brightness on low, waiting for my my sleep hating toddler to fall asleep in her crib, so I admit I may be seeing things but her face looks similar to Megan Fox’s in those photos. Like I did a double take for one. I wonder if that’s whose look she was going for. Or maybe they use similar filters.

Wait. When she walked away I thought she was wearing some kind of harness thing under her butt to make it look like that…but she didn’t?!? That’s just what it looks like? My mind is blown.

I really wish she didn’t feel the need for all the plastic surgery, and I won’t criticize her for getting any of it because that’s her choice. But I was done following her after Confessions on a Dance Floor. The only song after that I have in my playlist is Ghosttown. It makes me sad to see her insecurity on full display like this. I frequently think about Vivienne Westwood and how she’s aged gracefully (I think?), but is still badass, IMO.

It's kind of funny (not haha), that to me, her age showed more than anything else when she walked away. Her hips have that stiffness we older people tend to get. She can have all the plastic surgery on her body she wants but she can't hide that her musculoskeletal system is aging too. I know she is incredibly fit, but she moves like she's old and achy. Even in her work out videos I can see it. I bet she overdoes it.

We were talking about women aging gracefully in the J.Lo thread, and I thought I'd bring it here. Stevie Nicks is a good example. Her look is famous and iconic, and she wears a variation on it to this day. She designed it with two major considerations, first that she had terrible stage fright and that boho style made her feel comfortable and safe (and also sexy without revealing a lot of skin), and second she wanted a look that would evolve with her over the years and wouldn't make her look like mutton dressed as lamb down the line.

"I knew from the beginning that I wanted to be famous when I was 70 and realized that being terribly sexy couldn't last. I would say to all the younger girls now, be careful about what you do if you want to stick around."

I remember reading about an aging superstar who had a brand new boy toy. She looked 30, great bod, great boobs, great skin, great hair. She was over the moon when she and her new love were pregnant! New love and all that.

Well, she had actually hit menopause. You can fool people, including yourself, working hard on the outside, but the insides just keep on ticking away.

I saw Debbie Harry at the Met Gala and thought she’s another great example of a badass older woman. I think she’s had work done but it’s more subtle and she looked amazing.
