I thought she was stunning, but boy was she overrated as an actress. It's a shame how she died though. Wasn't she known to give the best blowjobs in Hollywood back then?

The first time I really saw her was in Rear Window. She was incredible. I don't know what it is about that era but the women then just seemed to have a aura of beauty to them.

She was amazing in all the movies I saw her in (unabashed Hitchcock fan here).
I think I'll always love her most for her un-veiling of her evening wear in Rear Window. When she popped that little black leather bag, I swore my undying love forever and ever. /swoon ;D

Years ago, I saw a black & white photo of her just before her wedding to the Prince. She was fully dressed and made up for the wedding and her brides' maids were hovering around her. They were on a balcony, all looking down, apparently waiting for their cue to come down and begin the procession. It was the most romantic picture I've ever seen. And she (and her brides' maids) looked beautiful. I honestly don't think it was a posed shot, because they all had an "are we ready yet?" look to them. What a lovely picture... I wish I could find it again.

I remember that picture, it is a classic. I thought she was a beautiful princess. I always wondered what went wrong as she got older. They say she was unhappy...but why (and I think it was more than the children)?

Apparently she wanted to keep working as an actress, but Prince Rainier didn't want her too and made it very difficult for her.
I could have gone my entire life without knowing that little tidbit. I'm going to pretend I never heard it.

Oh. I totally agree with you, but it's GRACE KELLY! I like my ice queens pure. I'll never be able to watch High Society (her 1956 remake of The Philadelphia Story also staring Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra) again without thinking of her oral prowess.
(It also doesn't help that whenever thoughts of Hollywood and blow jobs mingle in my mind an image of Harvey Weinstein immediately pops into my head. And it's just too early in the morning for that.)

I haven't seen the Kelly/Rainier wedding documentary in a long time but it's pretty good. It all seems so glamorous-- Grace and her wedding party traveling to Monaco by ship, the beautiful wedding dress that was MGM's gift to her, and Grace in her dress and Juliet cap during the wedding ceremony. I read in a GK bio that her family had to pay a dowry to the Grimaldis, I hope that isn't true.
