Just watched the finale and I agree that it was very nicely done. I'm not any huge Castle/Beckett shipper and generally speaking I don't mind if a show waits to put a couple together (even until the series finale) as long as they finally get together and it's onscreen. Still, I think Castle did a good job of slowing building their relationship, using last season's finale as a major turning point and providing the big payoff with this season's finale. I just wish there was an "I Love You" during that scene.
Ryan and Esposito's "breakup" was heartbreaking. The whole cast has really great chemistry.

I just watched the Valentine's day episode and loved it. The show has been kind of lackluster lately but this episode had a similar tone to older seasons and I hope they keep it in the future.
In general I'm liking the season and how they are handling the relationship between Castle and Beckett, except that they have too many episodes that feel like fillers. And they had some problems with continuity, they keep introducing issues like Beckett's listening to Castle's ex wife about how he doesn't open up in certain subjets, without following them in the next episode. I still like the show and love the characters but wish that they could be more consistent in the quality of the episodes.
I'm looking forward to the two parter with Alexis in danger, anyone still watching?

I'm still watching and when I saw the Alexis in danger two parter thing I have a feeling it has something to with that boyfriend she hasn't introduced to Castle yet.

So I haven't watched this show in forever, but what is going on here? Apparently Stana Katic and Tamala Jones are out for "financial reasons." Bad year for female characters on television. :/

I remember seeing an item years ago saying that Fillion and Katic loathed each other (supposedly in part because she treated crew badly, but that could just be Fillion's camp going for a Clooney vibe), and apparently things had not improved.

They hate each other. I doubt it was just her that was the problem.

Oh, I have never seen an episode of this show, but for some reason I have been compelled to read about this on ONTD over the years.
So, no one knows the reason they don't get along, but they openly hate each other, and this has been going on for years. They have been to counseling. They don't talk, they don't shoot scenes together, they don't tweet at each other (LOL, ONTD, for noticing that). It's really awkward for the press to pull together pieces on the show and for showrunners to get red carpet and PR stuff together.
The overall opinion on ONTD seems to be that they both have big personalities and that causes a clash, but that this is more on him. Apparently he has a history of being a difficult jerk with an ego (and they can site examples from interviews, Firefly, other projects, etc.). I guess he has made her cry on set, and sent out a stone-cold tweet yesterday concerning her leaving, his first tweet about her... ever?
Anyway, sorry if this is super obvious info -- just thought I would share as a non-watcher! I bet we will finally hear more details as to why soon since she's leaving.

I remember seeing an item years ago saying that Fillion and Katic loathed each other (supposedly in part because she treated crew badly, but that could just be Fillion's camp going for a Clooney vibe), and apparently things had not improved. My source at ABC said they had a torrid affair during the first season and she cheated on him. He never forgave her, and it went down hill from there. Based on my source's job at ABC, I believe this piece of gossip. And apparently dealing with the fallout over the years has been a nightmare.

Wow! Yeah, I heard they hated each other but nobody seemed to know why. That's a great piece of gossip Martini Girl.
