I love Coldplay, but -- hee! So true. Oh, Liam, you're such a bitch, and I love you for it.
Saw them last night in Chicago. They put on a great show. I'm pretty sure Liam bungled some of the lyrics to "Wonderwall" (come on now), but they still sounded amazing. Although I think Noel has a gorgeous voice, so I was disappointed he didn't do an acoustic set. Oh well.
I don't have the new album yet, but they did a few songs from it and they sounded great. I like that they stick with their trademark sound and don't "experiment" like some bands.

From Popbitch:
Liam is not the sharpest knife in the drawer. What a surprise. Hee.

That? Is the funniest thing I've heard all week. Poor, stupid, bitchy Liam.

I can't tell you how many times I wished that Liam would quit and Noel would be the only vocalist. I prefer his voice. I'm not too fond of Don't Believe the Truth. I actually like Be Here Now better. *ducks to avoid people throwing things* I love Coldplay, but -- hee! So true. Oh, Liam, you're such a bitch, and I love you for it. Saw them last night in Chicago. Word. Every time Liam was having one of his temper tantrums in the 90s, I would think, "Why do they need him?" Sure, he's got the snotty, crazy, volatile rock-star vibe going on, but he's nowhere near as talented as Noel. Even Noel's backup vocals overshadow Liam, who always sounds to me like he has a sinus infection or something. I figured Noel would eventually get fed up and throw him out of the band.
Count me as another fan who loved Be Here Now.

I disagree; I've heard him do acoustic sets at a few shows and I've always thought he sounded good. But YMMV.

I love Oasis live. I can't see them until September. So, I keep hoping there won't be any brotherly brawl that cancels those shows. shanmac--I thought I was the only one who still liked Be Here Now? I thought he rocked the MTV Unplugged concert (while ol' Liam boozed it up in the balcony and spit onto the stage - good times!) and I loved his solo performance of "Cum of Feel the Noize" (thanks, Slade) on Later... with Jools Holland. He sounds pretty awesome on the version of "Don't Look Back in Anger" on Familiar to Millions. However, I can imagine him sounding sucky if he was having throat problems or something. His voice doesn't seem like one that can be faked (if that makes sense). Like Liam could just push on through the pain (as if he ever would) because his scratchy, sneery vocal sound allows for some mistakes. Noel's doesn't. Or something (can you tell I don't know anything about singing?).
I love that bit about Liam not knowing that Spinal Tap aren't real. It seems like something he would think and do. Didn't Noel talk (on the documentary Live Forever) about Liam asking Noel to call him John or Lennon or something? Guy definitely has more than one screw loose.

I told my boyfriend that someone should make a daily calendar (you know, the kind where you tear off a sheet every day) based on Liam quotes or anecdotes. I would totally buy one.
