Noel Gallagher is back.Okay, he is an asshole, but a funny one. The new album, 'Don't Believe The Truth' is due out on May 30th. So, is anyone looking forward to the new CD?

I still like them but I'm one of the few Americans who still buys their albums.
I think the Gallagher brothers wore out their welcome in this country with their antics on their '97 tour.

I hate, absolutely LOATHE Oasis. I don't care if they ARE Ewan McGregor's favorite band, to me all of their songs sound the same, and they're annoyingly, digustingly pretentious.
And the fact that they called themselves the next Beatles only adds to the hate. Oooooh...so much HATE.

I saw a song or two on TV and the lead singer always keeps the mike about 5 inches lower than it should be so he has to bend his neck down to sing. It looks stupid. How many ex-wives do they have between them?

I have to say I love Oasis. I think the Gallaghers are self-destructive monobrowed freaks who may be sharing a single brain cell, but damn if I don't adore "Definitely Maybe" and " "(What's the Story) Morning Glory".
Two of my favorite nineties happenings were Oasis Unplugged, when Liam refused to perform and toasted his livid brother from a balcony; and their episode of "Behind the Music", which had to be subtitled. Hee!

Awesome. And so true. My other favorite Noel quote was when he said that Chris Martin looked like a high school geography teacher. Oh, and when he refered to Take That-era Robbie Williams as "that fat dancer."
I LOVE Oasis. Yeah, maybe all of their songs sound the same, but I like that one song, dammit!! And no one does wistful like them (see "Don't Look Back in Anger," "Don't Go Away," etc).
I'm cracking up just thinking about this.

Another fan here. I have been waiting for them to make another great album for ages. Definitely Maybe and (What's the Story) Morning Glory? are absolutely great and Standing on the Shoulder of Giants and Heathen Chemistry have some great moments (although both fall well below the mark of their first two albums) but they can't seem to make the magic happen song-wise anymore. I keep checking out their music because of what they did ten years ago not because of what they are doing now.
They can't always back up their taunts but I love Noel and Liam for keeping things interesting. I think Blur really ended up winning the Britpop battle of the bands - after all they are still making viable music that still sells - but when you listen to Oasis you would be hard pressed to think so and, for whatever reason (I am a Blur fan so it isn't because I hate Damon Albarn or something), that just cracks me up.

I love Oasis. Noel has admitted that his songwriting isn't the greatest.
They are excellent live. I'll be seeing them (again) in September, because I missed out on the earlier tickets.
For those who don't know: Ringo Starr's son Zak will be touring with them.

Oh, if you like them, that's fine. I just happen to find them a major bunch of asshats.
"Oh, we're the next Beatles!" What a fucking tool.

Oh please, they're so over. The Darkness is more Beatles than they are.
