Back on last night and I was pretty underwhelmed. Am I the only one that really wants Alicia to lose the election? The show is so much better when it's her practicing with the firm.

I hate all of the political storylines. I hated them when they were Peter's, but at least they were only a subplot then. I want to see them in the courtroom arguing interesting cases, and I want the *office* politics back. Speaking of cases, the resolution of the Colin Sweeney case was lazy and stupid. Chum Hum is going to sue because of the free advertising they got being repeatedly seen on people's computer screens on a popular TV show? Right. The Kalinda-Lemond Bishop stuff is interesting to me because I know she's leaving the show and I don't think she's going to make it out of that association alive.

Bump because last night's episode was flat-out awful. Really, embarrassingly terrible, which I have never experienced with this show before. I couldn't even watch most of it.
On a side note, my ongoing pet peeve with this show is that Alicia is always dressed perfectly and always has a perfectly clean apartment with wine and cheese on the kitchen island, and yet she doesn't appear to have help and you never, ever see her doing housework or grocery shopping or doing any of the necessary things humans do to survive. She doesn't even ever shop for those perfect designer clothes.
Last night's episode had her in a delirious, hallucinatory state, and they couldn't even put a bead of sweat on her forehead or muss up her hair a tiny bit. She still looked like the same perfect lawyer-bot. I'm willing to excuse it when the show is keeping me entertained, but when it's such a shitty episode (and tedious story arc) it really starts to bug.

I agree about the episode. I cringed at the fake Will Gardner silhouette.
I haven't been impressed with this season overall. The show is kind of floundering now that the Cary storyline is done, and they have no idea what to do with Kalinda anymore. I'm starting to think the show may never fully recover from Josh Charles' departure.

There has been a LOT of talk about how Julianna Margulies refuses to have any scenes or storylines with Archie Panjabi and that’s basically why Kalinda is out in No Man’s Land doing nothing and why Archie decided to leave the show. The rumors have been going on for a few years and I was skeptical, but now I believe them. Kalinda and Alicia NEVER have scenes together anymore, and haven’t for a long time. And apparently Archie Panjabi wasn’t allowed to go to Paley Fest when The Good Wife cast did their panel.

I agree, I doubted all that talk at the beginning, but now thinks it's true because it makes no narrative sense in the show for them to not have any scenes together. Too bad because they were really good together. By the way, it's really crappy if it's true Archie wasn't allowed to go to Paley Fest, she's been part of the show for years.

These last two episodes have been a drag for sure. It is especially a bummer since it was off the air for a month. I agree about hating this election story line. I think having Alicia as the state's attorney will be an interesting development but it is taking forever to get there. Speaking as a Canadian I am curious. Do people really care about the State's Attorney election in real life? Do people actually watch debates and vote?
It does feel like the show is really spinning its wheels. After last season it feels like it is trying to get back to the status quo. What was the point of them leaving Lockhart and Gardner only to end up in the same offices working with all the partners again? It also feels like Diane has been marginalized this season. And both Cary and Diane are barely in any scenes with Alicia either. The actress who plays Robyn has said recently there were no plans to bring her character back. I'm not saying I believe the rumors about Juliana Marguiles being a giant biatch but this season feels a lot more Alicia-centric then usual. And I get it, she is the titular character. But the story lines have been a little more spread out among the characters in the past. This show has one of the deepest and most talented supporting cast. They need more to do.

No, I don't think they do, but it is an important position. I never heard any rumors about Juliana. Did she find Archie to be threatening (since Archie won an Emmy during the first season?) My main beef is that Matthew Goode shows up for 2 minutes and he's done. Now he's probably moving onto DA, and I can't say I blame him. I have a feeling she's going to win because her campaign manager is sticking around, and I can't imagine him doing that if she loses. I hope the show bounces back. The last two episodes haven't been great.

I realized that Cary's storyline has been the only interesting one this season, and since that was resolved (in December?) I have been watching solely on habit, and not because I'm actually interested.
I don't blame Matthew Goode for leaving. The show doesn't seem to know what to do with him either.
I had no great feelings one way or the other for Robyn, but hearing that her character has been abandoned too makes me sad. She reminds me of when there was actual lawyer stuff on the lawyer show.

I have no idea what's been happening behind the scenes (is JM really that big of a bitch?), but the show has been dull since Will died. I've stopped caring about the fate of any of these characters with the possible exception of Eli (always entertaining)...I miss the complex, sometimes crazy legal situations and I wish they'd all get back to court.
Kalinda used to have an interesting job but being a babysitter to a drug dealer's kid will be a disappointing final assignment before she's offed. She needs a more intense ending.
