For everyone who thought that scene in the bar between Alicia and Kalinda looked a little funny - we were right. They did not shoot it together - it was all stand-ins and split screens. That is completely ridiculous and my opinion of everyone involved just dropped through the basement. The actresses couldn't act like professionals and shoot one short scene together. And even more baffling is that NO ONE - not the producers, not the studio, not the network - told them to get over themselves and just shoot the stupid scene.

I agree. If I could manage to work with a pathological liar at OldJob for far less than what these two are getting paid...

I knew it was coming, but it sucks all the same. Matthew Goode has officially left the series, but may make a guest appearance next season. He's supposed to be a major character on DA. I don't think I'll be tuning in next year.

I think like Taye Diggs, they brought him in with for a significant part and it ended up going nowhere. Such a weird season overall.

During promotions for TIG, I remember hearing him say that he appreciated having a BC as scene partner-- mainly because BC would stay and read his lines off camera, allowing MG to react in a more natural way. I took that to mean MG wasn't getting that from the set of TGW. Then I remembered JM once saying she had her contract renegotiated so that she could leave the set early and have dinner with her family. I do not blame her for that at all- your kids are only kids once and working 16-17 hours a day means you miss a lot. However, I wondered if there was any bad blood stemming from those comments. Obviously I don't know if that incident started the "feud", or if it was part of a larger issue, but it's such a shame. They had fantastic chemistry.... even if he only got 2 minutes an episode.

What sort of power does Julianna have over this show? I don't want to be believe that she's a monster because she insists on doing things her way - a man would never be criticized for that. But....they bring in great guest/recurring actors and don't use them in the end. Almost none of the main cast have any story lines or scenes with Margulies. One actress can't be in scenes with her for three years and finally leaves the show. I'm now side-eying Josh Charles' reason to leave the show the way he did. Something's definitely going on there.

JM is the star and a producer, but it really feels to me that the Kings should have final say on things, and they should be able to tell her to suck it up (though it is also rumored that CBS was in JM's corner, so maybe their hands were tied).
Archie is apparently in that new earthquake movie that's coming out, and she was asked again about the fake last scene. She basically just said "I don't have any say in those decisions" (which is in line with her always referring people to the producers for explanations) but she also said that she's known for two years that she was leaving (and has zero plans to come back). That would line up about when she and JM stopped being in the same room together. It sounds like maybe she wanted out when this crap started, but she had to honor her contract.
As for the other cast members, I think the writers just fell down on the job this season and didn't know what to do with anyone - not even Alicia, really. Her storyline was never satisfying to me. So I don't think JM had anything to do with that, though I am beginning to wonder what she's like on set. I've never thought she was a monster, either, but between this stuff with Archie and stuff like the Reddit AMA with Matt Czuchry where he had personal stories about the other cast members (Christine sings all the time, he and Archie would get together and run lines) but whenever he got a question about JM, all he said was "she's a talented actress" and "she always comes to set prepared." It may mean nothing, but it felt like he was being professional and restricting his comments to only positive things, and the positive things he had to say about JM were pretty impersonal.

Anyone watch the season premiere last night? I thought it was fine. It is definitely the Alicia show now. Barely anything with Lockhart and Agos or whatever they are called now. I still hate the idea of Peter campaigning for vice president. It just seems way too unrealistic for this show. And I read somewhere that they cast an actress to play Hilary Clinton which seems weird. Then again Eli vowing to destroy Peter was the best part of the show. That story line has potential. And Alicia's new friend seems interesting. But overall it was just okay. I'll keep watching but its definitely moved to the bottom of my queue.

I watched and thought it was good. I much prefer seeing Alicia in over her head to arrogant, so I enjoyed it. Last year made me dislike her, how did that happen and did they do it on purpose?
