I cried. I thought it was lovely. Me too. When Mitchell laid his head on Jay's arm as they came down the aisle, the tears started rolling. That move got me. I wonder if it was scripted. Either way, well done.

Reruns on USA- the gorilla and the elephant on top of the car will NEVER stop reducing me to helpless laughter. The kind with snorting and tears.

I just watched the Thanksgiving episode. Lily is an insufferable brat.

I've stopped watching the show, and Lily was one of the reasons why. Did they really make the decision to have this child be so unlikable? Or do the writers mistake Lily's personality for being sassy? If it's the latter, that raises another question -- are they perpetuating a stereotype by making the child of gay men sassy?

I don't know about sassy, but it makes Cam and Mitchell look like lousy parents who don't know what the hell they are doing. Granted, all the parents on this show are fairly inept. Every adult character on this show is a stereotype. Uptight mom, clueless dad, spicy Latina, grumpy old man, flamboyant gay man, and OCD gay man. The kids don't fair much better.
I also hate what they've done with Alex. She's the smart, serious kid that is a counterpoint to her frivolous, shallow sister. Oh, and she's a lonely bitch that no one wants to be around. Put the books away girls lest you become like Alex.
This show is drifting into Everybody Loves Raymond territory, where everyone hates each other and are constantly annoyed by their irritating family members. You wonder why they even hang around each other so much.

I always preferred the Original Lily . I know they hated it, but those girl babies were masters at the extended WTF reaction that is such a part of Modern Family's comedy.

cabbagekid - here is a clip of the really funny part but what made it even funnier was that we had seen the gorilla and the elephant earlier, when one of the dad's tells the other that 'we need to talk about the elephant in the room' and the camera pans over to the giant stuffed elephant. I like it when there is a call back to an earlier joke that makes them both funnier. It was Season Four Episode 1, Bringing Up Baby.

I just watched the Thanksgiving episode. Lily is an insufferable brat. She bothered me, too. They would be better off going in the other direction and having her be more sensible than her parents.
